How can magazines say "He will be fired today!", yet when it doesn't, everyone just forgets about it and they move on with the same thing a day or two later? Does the coaches/owners change their mind every hour?

Mancini has been mentioned a few times. He's a proven winner. Knows how to perform at the peak. Still hope Strama will be at charge, if not I'd prefer Mancini.

He is the last coach on earth who would I like to see here. Even Benitez and Ranieri are higher on my list. Arogant and overated prick.

Mancini will make us play some shekshy football like we did in his first year or so in charge. Kova the new Veron. Schelotto the new Ze Maria. Guarin the new Stankovic. Zanetti the new Zanetti. We'll also rack up more draws than we did in the first half of that season, meaning we will be able to look back on the last 10 years as an improvement overall.

I just ask for simple things.

A manager that plays a back four.
A manager that knows which games and teams to play a 4-2-3-1 against and which teams to play a 4-3-1-2 against.

That is all I want.

Why are you obsessed with Scala. Why not Trapatonni?
Scala is a coach of the 90's. I loved his Parma but that's 20 years ago. Plus I thought you don't like the 3-5-2. Scala played also only this System.

He only used 3-5-2 with Parma. He used a 4-3-1-2 with Borussia Dortmund. That shows that he isn't tactically arrogant, and additionally his accomplishments are unbelievable, promoting Parma from Serie B to a Serie A title, a UEFA Cup, a Coppa Italia, a European Super Cup, and a Cup Winners Cup. With Dortmund he was there briefly but still managed to nab an Intercontinental cup.

Scala's constantly reiterated his desire of a return to coaching, and I think he could do well here; he's a legendary coach that can really create a beautiful team if he's given the chance (imo).

Highly unlikely, however.

Mazzari is coming. He'll play a 3 man defence with which he overachieved getting results in the process. 3 man defence or 4, the most important thing is that the team has balance.

Hopefully Mazzari will be official soon.

He will be the first coach since Mourinho who it actually makes sense to appoint as manager. First coach since mourinho that doesnt just reek of desperation from the management and who is actually coming from a very succesful campaign.

Awesome idea, lets get a 65 year old fart who hasnt coached a team in almost 10 years.

No one cares whether there are 3 or 4 at the back all that matters is being compact and being able to move as a unit and everybody giving their fair share. This is as stupid as putting the sole blame on the individual central defenders for a team conceding a lot, defense starts from the attack if players don't move and cover the whole team will suffer. Like for example at one point this season we were playing some awful football with 7 at the back and 3 up front because those 3 up front are spectacular footballers, we did get some good results but there was no balance in the side.

Mazzari actually makes no sense for me; but it is what it is. Inter has no vision and at this point we are just emulators. We want to emulate Juve, we want to emulate Napoli instead of cutting a clear path for ourselves as a team with a distinct identity, like how Bayern reinvented themselves after about 4 years of stagnation. If Mazzari is hired, it only proves Inter and Serie A itself is probably ten years behind Europe.

Actually, having players to fit the formation is pretty important too. There is a reason why we often looked like a SerieB team when we played with three at the back this season.

This fascination about 3-man defence isn't all that bad imho. Every coach has his preferred tactics, what matters is if they know how to make it work. There are very few Capellos or Ancelottis who can work with different systems.

All Mourinho has ever done is play a fast counter attacking 433/4231. He has coached some great players across his clubs which he could have used to play a more possession oriented or different style of football. But that's what he has ever done.
Ferguson has always played with wingers. This season, he had a great attacking midfielder in Kagawa, and Rooney as a no. 10, but he couldn't play any system apart from a 442/433 which even made them play on the wing which aren't their true positions.

Its irrelevant if Mazzari is hellbent on a 3-man defence. What matters is that he has got his teams to play that formation well, which has looked defensively stable and potent in attack.

Agree with the point you made but just wanted to point out that Mourinho played a 4312 for much of his time here. Switched from a 433 early first season and only started using the 4231 more often later on in the second season.
