Is it necessary? Orlandoni retired, Julione and Castellazzi remain #1 and #12, either Bardi, Belec or Di Gennaro is our third choice.

We can speak about Viviano. According to romours we will buy buck his Palermo-half around 6 million.

+ Bardi: would be the world's biggest mistake to have him as 3rd keeper. HE MUST play elsewhere. In a strong Serie B-side or even in A league. He is TOP talent and had a fantastic season at Livorno.

So we pay 3.5mil plus half of Viviano for half of Kucka, now a year later we'll pay 6mil for that same half. It's just a rumor, but Palermo just paid 5mil for their half back in January, so the price seems reasonable. That half of Kucka will likely be a throw-in in yet another deal with Genoa. We should just sell Viviano off before we make any more idiotic dealings involving him.

yeah, Bardi as a 3rd would make no sense. Even Belec has been a starter most of this year, so pulling him back to be a 3rd keeper makes no sense either. Orlandoni was really the perfect 3rd keeper as he was cheap and counted as a home grown player. Plus he was ancient, so rotting on the bench wasn't stunting any development.

Cesar, Castellazzi, and someone similar to Orlandoni as a 3rd choice keeper.

When it comes time to move on (next season presumably), Belec or Bardi as a competitive backup to Cesar, with a view to what Cesar did to Toldo imho

I see a great future for Bardi, the way he did play for Livorno have been perfect, he have safed some " 3 point safes for Livorno, i see him to become inter future goalkeeper, but he needs playing time to be even better. so Keeping him on the bench will crush him for good

My suggestion of Benassi has just gone down the crapper, he signed a new contract with Lecce.

My next suggestion, Ivan Pelizzoli :work:

According to rules, can we sign a Primavera keeper also in first team?

He could be the bench if any of Julione or Castelazzi are injured and would probably not play at all...

yes, that'd be fine. we have indeed done this in the past before, even iirc. but the question is, who?

Di Gennaro looks like a good prospect, he deserves to be playing regularly. Ivisca needs to play to develop...

The only primavera player you put on the bench is someone you dont think will develop into a top keeper, and in that case, you mgiht as well use someone like orlandoni.

shit, cordaz maybe? who knows

so now we r thinking of juione. i realise his salary is high, i realise he had an erratic season, but this guy is one of the top 3 keepers in the world for the past 5 years. replacing him with handanovic sounds ridiculous to me...

He has had 2 erratic seasons in a row. Julio isn't as safe as he used to be, and with his massive wages I have no doubt we should sell him in case a good offer comes.

The only reason Julio should leave is because we want to get rid of his wages. And honestly we need to stop thinking of spending huge sums for Handanovic. Either bring back Viviano or just let Julio stay. Lets not waste time and money on other options.

My opinion is:

We're in a rebuilding phase. I dont expect us to be Scudetto competitive this coming season. We should be looking at offloading at least SOME of the players who wont make a meaningful contribution in a 2-3 year timescale. Cesar, whilst still not a bad player (though not as good as he once was), is an expensive luxury, and I would rather - especially in the goalkeeper position - develop someone who can be a star for our team at the back over the next 5 years.
