About Flamini, he is good, but why are we looking at similar players to the ones that we have??? We need imaginative players, not carbon copies.

Why not leave the imaginative for the AM role and leave the Carbon copies for the CM role

Cambiasso Flamini Zanetti

Flamini plays a more defensive role freeing Zanetti and Cambiasso and he's for free....

Cambiasso Diarra Zanetti

Diarra has the edge over Flamini Defensively (he'll be the destroyer in our team otherwise known as the number 5) however he'd cost us about 20 million euros or such....

Cambiasso Essien Zanetti

Essien would play the Defensive role without gassing out or even getting close to getting tired and that would be a dream team but he'll cost us so much money that i don't believe is needed for that position....

for that position i'd rather get someone who's Cheap and can perform consistently and get the job done and Flamini is capable of doing that and for free that's an amazing buy other than that i can only think of Aquilani who i'd love in that position......

Lets spend the money on the AM....Please no Ronaldinho we don't want Adriano to get a drinking buddy

I'm not mocking. Its a fact. Arsenal havent won anything since 2005. Not even the mickey-mice cups. Wenger woudnt have survived in the Serie A.
I'm not against Arsenal or not an Interista for disliking Wenger. Its my opinion and I will stand by it.

Anyways, I dont want to make this thread go way off topic. Diarra would be a good signing too, but not for 20m. We dont need him at that price, Flamini would be great for free, I'm sure Branca and Oriali would try for him.

wanting Essien/Flamini with cambiasso and JZ in the midfield is absolutely laughable.

Alot of people here are like Mancini, they refuse to learn from past mistakes.

You cant play 3 players in midfield who's primary qualities and so similar and in the defensive department and expect to do well in high pressure/tempo games, especially in Europe and spring serie a games when they will have run out of steam.

Essien is alot like Cambiasso and Vieira, just better. But the last thing we need is more players with the exact same strenghs and weakneses as the ones we already have.

Flamini would be a good replacement for Dacourt.

Unless Zanetti is moved to either RB og LB, there is simply no room for another starting DM in our midfield, its simple as that.

Diego Capel? He wont join, he seems like a decent talent, but 12m € for a potential new Farinos? No thanks.

We need to pray to god that we will get a coach who understands this, because Mancini obviously doesnt.

Ofcourse, that doesnt mean lets buy best there are. We can get good free player, loan one, and buy 2 good ones...Not to mention how much money awe are going to save on wages with Solari Figo and co. leaving

Our midfield has to consist of 2 defensive players and 2 attacking players...wether we play with 3 CMs and an AM or 2 CMS and 2 Wide players thats another story,but you cant play with 3 players that have the same charecteristics and excpect figo/jiminez or stankovic(who actually isnt even an AM) to do well because what we end up is with 3 players in the middle who keep defending,cant hold the ball and with an AM who is either totaly lost on the field or is helping out his other 3 midfielders in holding position and when they do there is no support for him in attack and in the end we lose the ball and thats how we basically lost matches mainly in the CL and recently in the league.

Essien isnt better than Cambiasso. His awareness, passing and tactical knowledge is nowhere near Cambiasso's. He relys on his strenght and speed. If you want a DM caught out of position, Essien is your man.

He's just your typical PL player, he runs alot, he's strong, and he has a horse shot. People loves it.

I feel like Jiminez and Diego together in the same formation doesn't work because i feel Diego is the type of player that likes to create on his own like he likes the ball to be given to him and he does the creating on his own....Same with Jiminez maybe having a player like Aquilani would help connect Zanetti and Cambiasso with the AM.....but i was thinking from what i've seen from Flamini is that he's a player that can connect well with the AM sending passes straight to him i think he has the most pass completion in the EPL this season....

Aquilani might be the one to do the trick then...but what are the chances Roma sell him to us

About Capel, hes a pure winger who plays with his head down and depends way to much on his speed. In italy he doesnt have the same space to make those runs. Im not taking anything away from him but playing in Italy wont suit his game.
