I think that Diego's natural place is AMC which is exactly want we need for "1" in 4-3-1-2. Quaresma, who I also believe is a great player, is more a winger type of player. He needs more room to do his tricks. Room cannot be found in the center of the pitch. On the flanks Quaresma uses his speed and finds space. I don't think that it is the same playing behind the 2 strikers.

To me Quaresma doesn't have the "charisma" that Figo has. Therefore, I doubt that he'll be a success if he joins.

To play in Italy's Serie A, you need players with very strong personality who can handle pressure and I don't think Quaresma has that. That's why I see him fitting well in the EPL.

That's another reason for not getting Riquelme because he's a "moody" player and doesn't have the seriousness the player like Nedved posseses. Maybe players like Riquelme and Quaresma are giffted but that's not enough to make them successful in Italy.

In my opinion Figo was not good enough last year. We may won the Serie A without any opponent, but we under performed in Champions League.

We almost got eliminated in the group stage, and when we encountered Valencia in the knock out phase and committed 2 goals in the first game , because of bad luck, we were unable to attack.We needed one goal to go through in the second leg and we could not create enough chances. We pathetically lost that game.

And the reason was that we could not be creative enough with the players available last season. 35 years old Figo is not good enough to win CL....

We need a world class physical play maker....

And we must pay for him.

Just compare our midfield in terms of creativity with the midfield of Barcelona, Manchester, Chelsea, Real, Milan.....

If im the one to choose....I 'd get Deco definitely especially that barca will be selling cz they can't keep on buying players without making a balance...

Deco playing deep in the midfield and deki as a trequaritsa with cambi/viera blocking plays....that would be my Inter for 07/08 and then next year we get a play/maker younger a player like Nasri or anderson ( i know man u got him)...Riqi also...can provide the creativity we all need especially after shining in Copa America !!

besides guys.....what about pushing for Ballack ?? I think he didn't fit well in England.....if we gave him the chance to join us when we are competing for both Scudetto and CL ...i think he may come...the thing now is we gotta make a priority list in this thread or even at the club if they haven't done it yet...

4- maybe Diego though i ain't that convinced with his display at Copa American so he may be a gamble !!

First - Deco isn't a deep playmaker.. At Porto he played behind attackers and that is where he would play if he ever comes here.. Cambiasso or Deki can play in front of the defence..

Second - Ballack has as much creativity as Deki, even less! So I'm lucky he chosen Chelsea last summer..

My list would be:
1. Deco
2. Riquelme
3. Jimenez
4. Quaresma

no Diego. no Pato..
If I would let my sentiments decide, I would even place Riquelme on the first place - he' Argentinian and he never was a trademark of some team (unlike Deco).. It would be just great to see a title before the derby - Riquelme vs. Kaka...

Our creativity is less when you compare it to the teamz you mentioned above,BUT to say Figo didnt perform last year was probably harsh,considering his age he offered us so much,saved our asses more than once so he made the most of his playing time.As for the Gaylencia clash,I think Figo was superb in the First leg at the meazza but slowed down in the 2nd Half,WHile in the return leg,THAT WAS THE ONE TIME MANCIO DISSAPOINTED ME,we were too damn defensive even though GAYLENCIA survived just by the thread

DEco can play as a deep play/maker if we have the cover of veira , cambiasso and chivu when he comes and zanetti/maicon...Mancio can play deco as our Pirlo !! thus our attack would be formidable with balanced defense cz deki's best role is as a trequarista and he can score goals more than deco with deco dictating the midfield from behind....

That shouldnt be the case though...We are more than equipped in almost every position except the most important one where we have an old man playing his last year..

I wont be blaming anything on Figo next year (except if he bitches about the bench) I just hope i dont blame our management again for making us lose out in the CL again.

We can get him for FREE on LOAN to see if he makes it... no risk by spending tons of millions... and we could save that money on playmaker to get Nasri next year! Besides he was doing great with Lazio last season!

Well i can agree with you mate! Wether we like it or not, we need a Deco/Riquelme type of player... maybe slow but good thinker ! Great assists and through passes! We lack that creativity! Suazo now can compensate speed!

Imagine a counter-attack with Deco/Riquelme's perfect accurate pass to launch Suazo into a scoring position !!!!! :star: :star: :star:


Nasri won't leave this season, while Pato is a HUGE gamble! Come on guys, you really wanna spend THAT MUCH on a 17-old kid an hope he will win CL for us? That's not realistic! While Deco DONE IT with Porto and Barca already !!! HE HAS WINNING MENTALITY just like Figo + Figo HIMSELF recommanded him - that's why i trust him. He will be 30 years old this summer yeah... but he's a champ and he still has at least 2-3 years left in him!
Don't say that Barca won't sell because i don't believe that! We could have signed him for ~ 20 mil. euro BEFORE Barca got Henry & Toure !! Now we are even helped by Barca's transfers!!!!

Xavi / Iniesta / Toure / Deco / Messi / Ronaldinho / Henry - impossible to line them all ! I mean it's possible but would defy logics... so Deco can be bought.

I am a fan of Diego and I would love seeing him in an Inter shirt. Unfortunately we are not linked to him. I guess Werder is not selling him at all.
