Milan, just great

Well, there is only one thing Inter can do to play against Lyon/PSV ...

About Liverpool-Juve:
its the first time the two teams meet eachother again after the Heizel-drama :(

I guess everybody knows the sad story:

Europacup 1 finale in 1985 at Brussels: 39 fans died and hundreds of people got very serious hurt.
There was panic in the Italian bloc, when the English fans were trying to get into the Italian bloc.

A shame that the game continued, Juve won with 1-0.

Hello.. ;)

wow..we meet again..I can't believe it..

I'm really surprised how realistic your thoughts are.. :proud: (considering I read the whole topic inter-milan serie A game..)
We are the favourites to advance to the semis, but I don't think Milan wanted inter in the 1/4finals.. I will post more in the inter-milan thread..

Guys this is our last chance against them.

If they beat us again we will be officially their "clients".

. The problem is that I don't have good feeling about this.

I daubt anyone has.. Except Milan Supporters.

Cause we haven't won over them for so freaking long, that I can't really remember the last time. :(

I've been in other forums and Milan supporters don't look happy at all. Ofcourse they believe that their team will progress...but they are shitting their pants, pardon the slang. They know that they might lose the scudeto and the CL, and that CL matches are different from Seria matches so they are afraid. Its interesting that 90% neutral viewers believe that Milan will progress...lets hope they are proven wrong.

FORZA REGGAZI!!! ;)

Damn loco Matrix..

But I still cannot forget one derby when Cordoba tried to 'kill' Shevchenko.. :frustrat:
He had to be locked into the cage for that monster move..

Yeah, I remember that vicious move by Cordoba. He also hacked Sheva down when he scored, actually, if Sheva didn't score that goal, it would've been a pentalty and a red card for Cordoba.

BTW Wittman, haven't you noticed that Nesta is becoming really vicious as of late, he used to be classy but now he is just violent. No wonder he is getting injured alot now.

Maybe not violence but he has received alot more Cards this year. He is not as meticulous with his tackles as he was before and has given up alot of fouls. Some tackles have been pretty nasty.

No, I respect Nesta but he isn't the best defender in the world. What helps him is that he plays in a very defensive league, so you get more help from your teammates.

Right now, I think Ferdinand and Terry are the best, followed by Puyol. But the best defender in the last 4-5 years have to be Ayala, the most underrated player in the world. He plays in an offensive league but helped his team win two LaLigas based on their defensive record.

As for Nesta's viciousness, if you remember in the pre-season he had that wild tackle on Martins. Also, I've seen him again and again hacking players when they are in a good position. There were two noticeable ones, he was sent off in once but given a free-ride on the other, I forgot the exact games, but I think one was against Lecce.

Not that a defender should be a choir boy, but the old Nesta with Lazio used to stop breakaways without a tackle or a single card.

you might be right he gets more cards, but not because he doesn't perform as well as he did in lazio..that is due to his importance and milan depending on him in the defense..Nesta is the key player in our defense, central and especially right, coz he always, along with Gattuso, covers Cafu forward runs..that's certainly not easy, so maybe he does more fouls..

what??

Ferdinand - certainly not, Terry - gives his share in attack, but in the defense he is not Nesta's class..
Ayala.. :dielaugh: - he was a disaster in Milan few years ago, remember?? I actually think he is overrated in Spain..

Puyol - you might be right there, he is great defender..I would also add Cannavaro, Carvalho and Stam..

And the point you made on Nesta injuring himself - he isn't injured that often, I remember when he was playing in Lazio, used to have serious injuries an was sidelined for months..that has never happened during his time in Milano..

Ayala? He is the greates defender in the world for the past 4 years. He failed with you just like Vieira, Marcel Desailly and Davids did. Sometimes you don't get the best out of your players. However, since it's Milan the media will never say a thing. But when it's us, all hell breaks loose.

Just look at the facts, Valencia don't have the budget of Real, Barca or even Atletico. However, they won two La Ligas against an excellent Real side that was in their prime.

LaLiga is the most offensive leage, and winning based on your defence means you have the best defenders. Ayala is good as a man-marker and as a sweeper, he can do it all. Hands down, he is the best defender in the first part of the decade, now he is injured and getting older, so I don't know who will be the best.

I agree Valencia had a good defence..but it's not all Ayala..

You are forgetting Marchena, full-backs, Ruben Baraja, one DM I'v forgotten his name, even Farinos and Gerrard were good back then..

It was a team with defensive formation, based on counterattack..led by mr. Hector :D that says it all..
