If I was Simone I wouldn't sign a new contract until the end of the season. He'll have all the leverage he wants as regardless of what happens to UCL, the season is already a success. If he goes deep in CL, he'll be expecting bigger raise on his contract.

should not sign a contract until he sees what the club's plans even are. If they have to sell important players again, he should just leave.

Yes this is a favorite bar conversation of mine. 3-5-2 is the best formation for modern football if your back three can do the job. There are teams that end up with similar numbers of players in similar parts of the pitch when sourced from different formations, so obviously formations are not set in stone in the modern game. But that aside having two strikers carries so many advantages.

I expect more teams will be playing it after we win that fucking CL cup. :pazzini:

Yeap.
I said several times over the years that 352 is probably my favorite formation, followed by the 4312 (ie diamond).

But they're not all the same.
Conte 352 and Inzaghi 352 are different animals.

Conte wanted two runners out wide and two runners in the middle. Ball moved wide or hit a target man in a deeper position to create space and exploit with the runners. Wide back to wide back possession up front was more common than normal (it's a thing for 352s but with Conte it was dictated to be a thing).
Middle guys didn't carry the ball and there was more crossing from deep and wide. The "triangles" were fixed. It was right side striker, right wing back and right central midfielder most often, followed by a left center back, left wing back and left central midfielder.

With Inzaghi you have more freedom in the middle as all the players are expected to be able to play (hence why Lazio had SMS, Parolo and Luis Alberto fielded at the same time, whereas Conte preferred Gagliardini to Eriksen for example)
You see how our center backs are liberated as well in possession and anyone can be anywhere. Thiago Motta has a similar approach with his coaching btw.
There is no target man, middle players are expected to carry the ball until there's an opportunity to move it and there are more players involved in the "triangles" we create on the pitch. Sometimes "rectangles" with an extra option, depending on where we are on the pitch.

Oh, and there's more freedom to shoot now.

Actually like the game today, it shows we haven't forgotten how to suffer. We showed no signs of confusion and shakiness with the back up players. It's gonna be important going to Madrid.

It's going to suck if we don't make a huge splash in CL. This is the most well rounded team since Mou days.
And who made it well rounded? Give some fucking praise to this man, whatever happens in CL!

He is about to bring us the second star in absolutely dominating fashion. No need of whining even if Atletico eliminate us.

I mean.. the season is a massive fail if we only get a 2nd star. We need a decent CL run as well. It's a great style in the league, dont get me wrong, but I'd like to get the second star and maybe SFs.

Don't have one.

Nah, and i m saying this as one of his biggest critics here. The season will be successful with second star and supercoppa.

My only gripe with him that I still hold is why the fuck took him a full two and a half years to fix certain things that were fixable from the start imo. And primarily what I mean by that is where the fuck was this defense. We had solid players there and in midfield since his first year...

Why? We sold our top goalkeeper and got 35 years old Sommer, which was a serious downgrade by many. Handanovic, Brozovic and Skriniar left as well. Dzeko and Lakaka too. Basically we didn't have any forwards except Lautaro. Thuram was just a winger with few goals, who should be converted into a forward, and Sanchez+Arnautivic were already done. Bisseck was Mr.Nobody, just a 7mln down in a drain. Many people complained that Milan and Jube had great mercato compare to us. Even Roma. I recall how some FIFers were envious about Renato Sanchez, Paredes and Aouar.
Considering all of that, I'd say that we should be grateful for the second star,. beating Milan 5-1, winning the crucial derby with Juventus and topping the league and almost all of stats.

Dont get me wrong, I'd be very happy about the second star, and its a great style to win it in, but winning the league vs coming fourth is like the difference of the CL QFs and R16. Obviously the trophy is important, no one disagrees, but in terms of the future of the club, its all trumped by progress in the CL.

I cant believe what I am reading here.
Last season Limone sucked cause he failed in Seria A, for not winning us scudetto. And reachin final of CL was a fluke for you.. And cause of that you were shitting on him all the fucking time. But now, when he is literally toying with whole league.. Nah.. CL campaing is more important and gettin 2nd star is a massive fail if we fail to reach SF of CL ??!!

How is that inconsistent lmfao

We were really disappointing in 22-23 league. No one can deny that. We also had quite an easy run to the CL final. No one can deny that either. Treble season was a much, much harder run.

We're doing well in the league this year - extremely well - but if we get knocked out by Athletico (Which to be clear, I do not think will happen), we'd all be disappointed this Inter team didnt go further.
