If this is what a drop in form looks like for us now then we are fucking massive. We seem to be quick to forget that drop in form used to mean a good 4-5 shit games with shit results and dropping points. There were a few players that definitely underperformed but at the same time our defense held on and I actually quite liked how Arnautovic got into the game. I also disliked Asllani after he scored , its like he completely switched off but he was still better than Miki. Augusto was a fucking warrior yesterday and probably MOTM.
Also Genoa is a solid team and their mid table place is fairly deceiving. That was not an easy game by any means.

That penalti is a joke yeah but that same foul in midfield is probably foul against Genoa.

PK wasnt there, but sometimes you get lucky. Lets leave it there...this is football and nothing is ever consistent.

As FIF complaining about the drop of talent, risk playing the same side until May and that 15 pts lead we have drummed up will vanish quickly. We cannot keep playing the same guys.12 games in 50 days, and I assume Barella and Mkhitaryan played every minute.

Bologna needs the same treatment as tonight rest 2/3 players and sub 2/3 players at the hour mark. Specifically Barella, Lautaro and Mkhitaryan.

Frattesi, Thuram, Asllani, Hakan, Sanchez, Buchanan, and Arnautovic all have reason to be fielded. The last thing we want is for someone to be flat-footed in Madrid.

It's a long season and if we are to go deep in Europe, even our second side needs to be fit, ready and match sharp. Who knows if we need one of them due to suspension or worse injury.

It's going to be even a longer season incoming, with 8 CL group games instead of only 6.

guys it was not a penalty and we where very lucky. i really hope we are NOT buying italian refs
Milan got a similar penalty vs Lazio in season 2020/21 iirc. Nobody of their fans complained that it is non existent. They even said that the referees are against them.
I also don't like that kind of cheap penalties, but if the other fanbases are ok with that, when it is in their favor, I don't have any regrets about it.

That is some wishful thinking, you make me doubt myself, but I am pretty sure Cannavaro failed pretty hard in a 3 men system in the past.
I am also pretty sure Cordoba is a right footed player.

I am regretting of engaging this conversation.
cordoba have played a lot as LB and Left side CB for inter and colombia. watch some clips.

cannavaro skill set seems useful as an organizer in the middle. i can’t recall when he last played in 3 man defense as middle CB. the point is the middle CB need not be always tallest of the three.

It is so wrong on so many layers.

I was implying Pavard might not be the best candidate for mid CB, due to his physicality, which can also include height as demonstrated in the game he can suffer and not insert aerial domination, which I think is important for the mid CB. You claim otherwise, which is very different from "not be always tallest of the three".(Your latest claim)

Then you bring up Cordoba and Cannavaro (I don't think most Inter fans like him btw) claiming they are short but great CB, and I ask if you think they can function in the middle of a 3 men system, but you don't prefer Cordoba to play in the middle? (How is it helping what you claim? Also not even answering.)

You also seem to be missing the point, Zanetti can play on the left too, but why would someone prefer him to play on the left?

Besides Cannavaro is short but strong. Sure a side CB and a mid CB can be very different that is the only reasonable argument I read so far, but if you have seen or remembered how bad he plays in a back 3 you might think again.

Still you claimed he never played as a mid CB, so how is that supporting your claim?

It doesn't make sense to talk a bunch of random stuffs then go the point is ... Whatever I claim.

i did mentioned in previous post that for middle cb what is important is calm head and ability to organize both side of defense. height would not be a key factor.

i am only mentioning cordoba and cannavaro as they were good defensive cb in inter history. height is secondary factor that makes good cb. also, i am just answering your question on my opinion on the two as middle cb which i duly answered that cannavaro might works well there due to his defensive traits but not cordoba whom might work better on the side.

if pavard play mid cb with bisseck on right and bastoni on left, pavard would be the shortest of the three. i think this could work well for inter and wont be problem if pavard not very tall. after all, their ages are still young and has long future for inter.

Mascherano also played in the middle

After three years playing for Liverpool, Mascherano joined Barcelona in 2010, where he changed his position of defensive midfielder to full central defender. With Barcelona, he won five La Liga championships, two UEFA Champions League titles, and two FIFA Club World Cups, among other honours.
