Anyone who follows Atalanta closely? Carnesecchi is their number 1 since december. Good numbers too, 12 games played, 10 goals and 5 clean sheets.

We dont have money for him hence following Musso with 12m.

That kid gonna cost at least double. Too much for a GK.

Do Gregorio could be good and potentially cheap option.

Same was said for Sommer, and Handanovic was also not so good in that aspect. This is not so difficult to be learned.
Don't believe anyone said Sommer was bad. Just not at onnana's passing level.
Handa was already at the club and captain so made sense to try and improve him before tossing him away.
Why would you buy someone that you need to teach that ability when you can find someone who can already pass properly?

Because after this season and Sommer, I realized that maybe it's better to have strong shot stopper than great passer. And, what I've seen from Di Gregorio, he is very solid shot stopper. Maybe, the management has a better solution in mind, but buying a completed goalkeeper will be too expensive for us.

Do we still have the counter option on Di Gregorio, and if we do how much is it?

Di Gregorio is my choice here and it's not close.
Being CT and our relationship with Monza helps, but I still have some reservations about his ceiling. Could be great, could be decent. If we’re dropping a meaningful amount of cash (for us) we need to do a thorough search and evaluate.

Same for me.

There haven't been rumors of Di Gregorio being linked to Inter and when there is this obvious background, you gotta think, maybe we simply do not consider his ceiling being enough?

Would be great to have your own academy player becoming your starting GK, but let's see what's gonna happen.

Damn, can't let that happen. We don't have the funds but we gotta make some kind of deal with Monza and Di Gregorio. They say we have resale % but I think he's still too expensive for us unless we make some sales.
If the price is about €15 million, Juve has most likely already locked him in. I doubt we would spend that much money on a backup gk for next season.

Sure, he's doing well in serie A right now, and being a full homegrown player for us is also a plus. His only disadvantage may be his ball distribution and how composed his feet are with the ball, as both attributes are critical to our style, in my opinion. It's rumoured that he is a Milan supporter, but I couldn't care less.

Perhaps we won't spend much money on backup GK. The Bento rumour disappeared, as has the growth decree; perhaps he is no longer an option.
There is also an option to use Stankovic, but if we saw some of highlights of Sampdoria at serie B, you can see he might not ready even as backup for us, besides it would be better for him to keep developing elsewhere.
That Tobe Leysen guy may be available for a low price, but even being scouted by Handa is not guaranteed, imo. Similarly, ex-GK Julio Cesar talks highly of Brazao.

Personally, I'd like Stefano Turati, who is probably cheaper and has good anticipation and reflexes, yet Di Gregorio may be better overall since he is more mature, though Turati's potential may or may not exceed his. He might be just homegrown in nation, but seeing him playing as a hardcore Interista would be nice. If Frosinone does not sign him, Sassuolo may gonna use him as a starter to replace Consigli.

Anyway, as always, this is a position that we need not be concerned about at Inter, as we just always find the right profile to fill.

Good points but it isn't really about signing a backup. It's more about signing a future Sommer replacement. Sommer is great but he's also 35. Best case scenario in 2025/26 season we need to have another GK who's good enough to challenge Sommer for starting lineup. Sooner or later it needs to be done. And it's a similar case in defence with Acerbi. These are two positions that need to be addressed in the next two summers.
