Well actually, he wasn't a bargain. He's being paid a lot of money, but at least he's very productive.
What the fuck?

The dude is worth 55 million and we got him for free but he’s not a bargain because he gets paid..

The ridiculousness you see here is especially from those who beg for sensi to play like every game..

Thuram earns 6M/year, how is that a bargain?
How much does Sensi earn yet you’ve never once called him out for his uselessness

His value has made a significant increase since he's joined Inter. I even said that he's been very productive but that 6M/year is quite high salary, no matter what kind of example you come up with. And that's net salary.

Just until recently, Dimarco's salary was quite low compared to his contribution in the pitch, and his value has been going up rocket high.

Btw, great of you to bring up Sensi in the discussion. Same goes for the other poster to mention Arnautovic. Haha, I really need to quit taking serious some of people here. It's either hate or fanboy. No in-between here

Worth every penny. In fact, all of our starters deserve what they earn. The ones who didn't are gone...

6 mln net, but his salary is benefited by Growth Decree, so his gross salary is around 9 mln which is not so much.
I think we paid something like 8 mln commission fee as well.

Thuram is a perfect example of where the 6 mios make sense and is not over the top...
As always it s about total cost of the player... Thuram is at 6 net cause he came under the growth decree and on a free transfer.....

How much would you guess a striker of his caliber costs if we had to pay? The ones we were after were all rumoured to be around 40
and i d argue that balogun is not as good as thuram... even if you give that striker a 5 year contract thats a 8 mio per year cost.....

So paying thuram 8/9 gross really aint much and it sure as shit is not to much for a player of his caliber even if there i no growth decree...

When it comes to valuing wether a player is worth the money or not or is to expensive you really have to take the total cost of the player into consideration not just salary or just transfer sum...

As in terms of total cost per year to the club arnautovic is pretty much on the same level as thuram...

It's ridiculous to claim that he's not a bargain yet refused to use total cost as the benchmark

Yup that's why I fear Dumfries is freeing himself. He will get paid more. Why he should care this summer for Inter's favor?

Let's say, he is enduring 1 more year of 2.5m net salary. But with e.g. 5m commission as free agent, higher salary, the better.

(I know this is not Dumfries thread but your post gives the perfect reasoning :D We are in the Gladbach previous position)

Arsene Wenger predicted this some time ago.

REUTERS - Players running down their contracts will become the norm in years to come due to skyrocketing transfer fees, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have both entered the final year of their deals, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs could also leave Arsenal for free in 12 months' time.

Wenger tried to see the positive side, saying it could be an "ideal situation" for the club as the players would be motivated to perform to impress potential suitors.

"I think in the future, you will see it more and more. Why? Because the transfers are so high, even for normal players," he told reporters on Sunday.

"You will see more and more players going into the final year of the contract because no club will want to pay the amount demanded... in the next 10 years, it will become usual.

"I think the performance on the day does not depend on the length of the contract, if that was true we would sign everyone for 20 years and be happy."

Sanchez, who was Arsenal's top scorer in the Premier League with 24 goals last season, has been linked with a move to Paris St Germain in the French media, but Wenger was adamant he would stay at the Emirates Stadium.

"Do I think he will stay? Yes, of course. How many times did I tell you that?," the Frenchman added.

"One day, he will go and Arsenal will go on. We will all go one day and Arsenal, hopefully, will go on."

Yup he is totally right. Even though the "ridiculous price" part is now on player's demand instead of club's.
Posters here who is still chilling "all fine IF we sell him this summer" aren't fully aware the seriousness of the situation. The more likely we can't sell without player acceptance.

Skriniar was saying he wanted to sign a new contract, that he would reject any transfers in the summer of 2022, and then January comes around and he knifes us by signing a pre-contract with PSG the moment he was able to.

I defend Skriniar's right to leave, I defend feelings of betrayal he might've had towards management because of previous attempts to sell that he finally decided "fuck you guys", I don't defend that he publicly expressed a desire to stay and then didn't back up his word on that. We could've accommodated Skriniar moving to PSG a year sooner and been better off for it.

But it's the same kind of idea; he decided his preferred choice was to leave on a free transfer. We couldn't sell him because he simply refused any transfers.

I am talking on Dumfries, by the way...
On Skriniar there is a hole in the bold part. I dont think the management trusted that bullshit..had he really wanted that why didnt he pen the contract already?

Nobody hates money to not receive a pay raise asap...the only reason for a delay is waiting for better offers.

Even in my tiny job seeking market I know such "strategy" :D let alone Inter.

Made me mad, made me laugh, made me happy especially his hold up play today. It's all good, when you're victorious.

He is so good at those one-touch layoffs - like the one for the Frattesi shot that was saved (similar to Hakan's goal versus Monza) and also for Frattesi when he assisted Lautaro on the block by Martinez Quarta.

Yeah, just came to write this. He might not be scoring or assisting right now, but he still contributes a lot to how we play. I'd say he is the best counterattacking player we had since...early Perišić? There was a few times when both him and Lautaro went for the same ball, but other than that he is one of the cogs in our team that just works. Those first time passes/one touch layoffs - good shit

He creates so many chances by his runs, his pressing and his offensive awareness. If he becomes a little more letal pouah I can't even.

The moment I saw that fumble I knew he's gonna post it after the game on socials and make fun of himself (if we ended up winning of course), good lad.
