Well I am not satisfied with him today. Whole defence too. Heck, whole team sucked.

Hope this continues to be one of those threads you don’t see people post in much because they’re just getting it done.

I think he could be killer in the center if we want to try him there one day. His reading of the game is at least equal to Acerbi and passing range at least as good as De Vrij. Not to mention an elegant and tidy defender.

Passing much better than any of SDV and Acerbi. Only concern is his size in comparison to those 2 who are excellent in headers.
I would like to see a Bissek-Pavard-Bastoni one day, depending on the opponent can be great

He’s certainly not a big CB by modern standards, but Pavard still has a 186cm to work with. Plenty of CBs have done much while working with much less 😃

Don't have one.
Very quiet thread in general, but this guy does his job very well so not much to talk about. Nice pass into the box for the goal.
I would say even better job playing that initial pass to sanchez before an actual assist. That's the sort of stuff that world-class wingbacks do. Too bad he hates that position lol cos he can offer much more there than darmian imo.

I think he offers much in the RCB position, since with our style of football he can still contribute a lot on the offensive end, much like Bastoni does on the other flank.
Plus he is an A+ defender.

Wanted to give a shoutout to this guy. Not just the block on Nzola that saved a goal, but his headed goal-line clearance on the Sommer challenge that led to penalty. It may get forgotten as Sommer saves the penalty but if Pavard wasn't alert to clear that ball it would have counted as a goal as advantage would have been played.

He was low-key dominating the whole thing. Whether it was on ball possession, defending or remaining disciplined on challenges and whatever else. Also that clearance with the header after Sommer's challenge on Nzola was excellent.

He's so damn good that makes everything look easy and simple.

He blocks and clears, yet he is composed with the ball and brings tranquilly to the defence line.

This is why he was brought here. Can't wait to see him against Chiesa.

I was really afraid when he took the RCB spot since he didn't like it so much with France and he wasn't at his best, but boy was I wrong. What a beast.

Question : In the dangerous situation at the start of the game when Sommer gave him the ball and Bonaventura took it, who is to blame ? Him or Sommer ?

National teams need more time to gel together and they usually don't have that. That might be the main reason he struggled there with France.

As for that incident, the first blame should go for the one who has the ball. He's the one who should measure the situation before deciding what to do with it and that was on Sommer. It was not like he was under pressure or anything like that. His decision to send the ball like that was miscalculated.
