I don't get the point of this signing.
Long-term replacement for Mkhi? He's probably the best fit for Inzaghi football I can think of that is attainable. Like I said in the midfielders thread though, if Mkhi is staying it doesn't seem feasible to pull off unless someone major is leaving.

What purpose does Frattesi serve them? Did we really splash 30M on a reserve CM?

I guess it depends. We do need a high quality '4th midfielder' - someone not neccessarily a reserve but a rotation option for our starters. Ideally, that player would be getting a decent amount of starts which Fratessi hasn't yet.

Otherwise, you end up with Gagliardini/Vecino as the first midfielder off the bench which isn't ideal.

The only issue with that is the money we paid for Fratessi isn't what you would pay for the first midfielder off the bench but a starter.

Does Frattesi showed he deserve to be more than a reserve?

Mhiki is 35, he cant be a starter forever. In last seasons, Zelinski was one of the best midfielders in Serie A. He fits well to this Inter team. Massive signing imo.

Free? Serie A proven? Experienced?
I don't get how you don't get it

Hahaha. I’ve learned never to trust it whenever the consensus is totally convinced in on a new signing.

I like this signing in theory but not so sure in practice. I feel like we should be targeting more of a physical/ athletic DM type with ball-playing ability. That or an attacking mid with good dribbling and playmaking ability to round out the midfield. Not sure if Zielinski really fits the identikit in my eye, albeit a great player and market opportunity.

I don't watching too much of Napoli this season, but Zielinski wasn't very good last season. I hope we don't get another Nainggolan.

We are giving up too easily on Frattesi.

This sounds good but also a tad too expensive?

Given that we've suppose to be still cutting our costs. We extend Mkhitaryan with the same salary which means we are effective replacing Klaassen's and Sensi's salaries with Zielinski's alleged 4.5m net salary which is more than those those combined. Zielinski's salary also isn't growthdecree-able.

I'm sensing mild risk in terms of costs, but at the same time I have full trust on Zielinski to provide consistent Serie A quality football. Bomb of a shot, can dribble with the ball, tons of experience from Serie A.

This seems a mistake. I'm okay with this if Mkhi is sold this winter to the Saudis, but otherwise I don't think he can be the replacement some of y'all are hoping for. I'm hoping Frattesi finally learns the system, because he has enough good attributes to be a revelation if he ever gets what he is supposed to be doing.

We do not have money for big transfer but gradually become an ideal destiny for those in their last year of their contract. A good team environment, strong squad with clear coaching direction, management knows how to deal with agents, etc.

Frattesi has nothing to do with Zelinski. Both have different characteristics and can complete each other very well. Its like comparing Toro to Thuram.
