The question here is not whether the jersey looks good or bad
Or weather it's orange or red
Or whether it would sell well or not
Or whether the stadium will come

It's called PRIDE & HONOR. Wearing the color of our city rival is just an absolute disgrace. Nothing should be able to justify it. Football is more than mathematics for me. I can understand if wearing red is just for commercial purpose, and it seems to be doing well; but I will never accept it since we are basically selling our soul to the devil.

1. Our city rival is wearing red and black last time i checked, not only red. The kit is more similar to Manchester United which by the way last season had a black & blue away kit and nobody complained like a little whiny bitch.

2. The away kit is awesome, everyone likes it and it's selling great.

3. Even if it wasn't who cares when we have such a beautiful home kit this season, maybe the best of all time.

It being for the Chinese to help us with the new stadium could be the only valid explanation... But can anyone confirm that that story is actually true?

That was a hypothesis some people came up with when the shirt was unveiled. But Moratti denied it in an Interview at Pinzolo. And if anyone has dealt with Chinese contractor you would know that the only color they are interested in is green. And I don't even think the negotiations with the Chinese are in an advanced stage anyway.

If it makes you feel better call it dark orange instead of red. Given the hue and the fact that it is without stripes the kit is closer to Holland than Bilan anyway..

1. Our city rival is wearing red and black last time i checked, not only red.

Last time I checked, which isn't that long ago, black is the common color in both clubs. So the colors signifying the difference between the two clubs are blue for Inter & red for Milan. It can't really be that hard!!!

Besides... I've seen this management do some crazy shit over the years, but even I wouldn't think they would go for a black/red shirt. That's just something it will not happen. So using an argument as your backup which simply would not happen, is pretty weak.

Hence, picking the red alone is already the worst case scenario, since the odds of a black/red shirt coming is zero.

2. The away kit is awesome, everyone likes it and it's selling great.

We wouldn't be having this discussion if "everyone" liked it.

It's selling great?

:yao: Yeah, such a beautiful home kit, maybe the best of all time indeed. & so much new & different than every other home kit we've had in a 100 years.

"The creator of this brainwave was probably catapulted to Earth from Saturn, not to know that red is the prerogative of another team. Evidently no one has ever taken them to the stadium during a derby, otherwise they would have seen two colours in their respective ends of the field - one blue and the other red. Separate, distinct and far apart, a symbol of an opposition and rivalry that will never fade. We urge fans not to buy this clothing and they certainly shouldn't come to the stadium wearing it."

Few days later.. Moratti: "Let`s play all of our pre-season`s games with red" :troll:

I am glad for the fact it should help revenues,

I cannot believe some of this BS I am reading.

Do some of you realize the hypocracy of what you are stating? Let's take a look at the "this red is like milan without the black stripes" argument. If you totally believe that black is a common color and clubs are defined by their other color, then I have some bad news for you. Do you know what would happen if you added black stripes to our normal white away strip?? In fact, the white strip is actually worse than the red, because it is almost identical to the white used by Juve. At least we have an orange-red away shirt now.

I am sure you will find some kind of concocted reason why one is acceptable and the other is not. It all comes down to the fact that we have been wearing that for a while, which is basically saying we got used to it. And the same will be true of this shirt.

So some people are angry today, but Internet activism is the step right above apathy. So when the season is well underway, you will see far less objections, and slowly more and more people will be wearing it in the Stadium and far less people will object. Rage levels in this thread will die down too. Sure, it might spark up a bit during the derby, but it will be a mere whimper compared to the initial criticism. And then this whole thing will be forgotten altogether. Do you know why? Because deep down, nobody truly gives a shit. Its just a fucking shirt. Some people will like it, some people won't. This whole "it is 2 shades away from one of the colors used by our rivals" is gonna get old very soon.

I really don't think you know the Curva Nord if you can make such a statement.

I know it's true for me (and a lot of other people) that there is an anti-feeling when seeing red things. When I bought my last car, the choices I had for the seats included red & black leather & I knew that would just creep me out & make me think Milan, so I got it changed. Same when buying things for my house, could get some red leather bar stools for the house, but no, I have to get black or another colour because of the association.

The white argument is also pretty retarded, almost every club uses white in their away kits because it is neutral and can be played against any other coloured home shirt. I just see Juve as stripy zebra bastards who only use white because they stole the colours from an English club, not because their colours have any meaning or reasoning behind them. This is far more different than red, red is a statement, it's the 'opposite' to blue - hot vs cold, etc etc.

Either way, there's no excuse for this disgrace of a kit. Fuck this bullshit of putting revenue & attracting new fans over the traditions and values of our club.

Surely but non Italian Internazionale fans can't feel the meanin of your post and how serious could be the colour matter.

They just don't know how it works in Italian reality this.

I have a question.. what if wearing this away jersey somehow brings back our luck and we win all trophies this year and for some years ahead we conquer Europe?

I'm sure that Coasterfreek has given you some of his milk.

It doesn't make sense how "disturbin" optimist you are.

What new fans are you going to attract with the color red?? Bulls maybe?

I totally get where you guys are coming from Kato. The color red traditionally identifies the enemy. Wearing the colour of your rival goes against the identity, pride and history that we have as Inter fans. That's why it's unacceptable, no matter how one phrases it.

But I dunno, for me, I seem to be only focused on what Inter is doing nowadays. Like, I don't care at all about Milan and Juve. I don't care about what they do or say, who they buy/sell, what colour their shirt is, whether we use the same colour shirt or not, I just care about Inter.

I'm a weird fan I guess, I don't value tradition as much as others do. But I certainly don't mean to insult our history by doing that either, you know? Or is it an automatic insult, even if I don't mean it that way?

ENZ, is it wrong that I hope Inter win every single trophies? I didn't say Inter WILL WIN everything, I said 'WHAT IF' but if you don't hope and don't believe you can achieve something you'll never achieve it.

It doesn't make sense how "disturbin" pessimistic you are and calling yourself an interista when you don't hope the best for this club? Cut the BS.

Branca: Is there too much of red in our away kit?

Moratti: Yes, let's reduce it by making the shorts black.

Pretty much. I've had cars I've had painted, interiors changed, refused to buy clothing, etc - just because looking at it too much would make me sick.

The bolded part is something A LOT of people in favour of the kit are missing. At the end of the day, it's insulting to ask to any club to run around in the colours of their rival, but for us - this reason stands out most to me personally. At least that's how I feel. No matter how pretty the kit it [and this one isn't, imo], no matter what business deal is sealed this way, boosted, gained, whatever. It's an insult. It doesn't get any simpler than that, for me.

1. Our city rival is wearing red and black last time i checked, not only red. The kit is more similar to Manchester United which by the way last season had a black & blue away kit and nobody complained like a little whiny bitch.

1) I question your legitimate football knowledge. ManU has used black/blue colours in kits for a LONG time.... Yes, also years without it, but many, many years with. I don't even like english football but I remember seeing them throughout the years in it occasionally, so surely there were years beyond my 21. Invalid. Also, the "exact colour" theory? If we were made to run around looking like zebras, would it change because the black was "not quite black" but maybe a dark gray? I doubt it. So, that's laughable.

2) Everyone is clearly a bit of a euphemism considering the numbers of people against it, even on this forum. Some have accepted and moved on and others are still outraged... but let's not group EVERYONE in the same category, eh. Just makes you sound like an idiot. As if the first point didn't already do it.

3) Dara covered it.

The difference between Man Utd's away shirt last season, and Man City's sky blue shirt is drastic enough that it's not the same comparison IMO. Those two are like the difference between light pink and red. Plus I wouldn't consider Utd/City rivalry on the same level as Inter/Milan's.
