No, we are 5th in the table. Points from games between the teams matter if more than 2 teams finish on same points. Napoli has 11, Udinese 8, we 6, Lazio 5.

Sorry, by saying "3rd position" over there, I mean to say - "for the 3rd position" but obviously, now that we are level on points with Napoli and co. it does sound confusing.

In mini-table of games between Inter, Napoli, Udinese and Lazio, the standings are 1. Napoli, 2. Udi, 3. Inter, 4. Lazio.

The hope for us is there. But really, those two missed penalties against Udinese and Atalanta will probably come to bite us in the ass, if we are to look back at anything at this moment.

My biased prediction would give 70% chance to Napoli, 19% to Inter, 10% to Udinese and 1% to Lazio. Is very difficult for us to win all 3 games first of all, and then also very difficult for Napoli to drop any points. What gives me hope is that Napoli has been bit on and off and tired lately.

Udinese's schedule is almost as much of a joke as Napoli's. Can be argued we have the hardest schedule left.

I don't see Napoli fucking it up. I sense EL for us. okerface:

We are 3rd because we haven beaten Lazio for the 2nd time. If we won the last matchday, we would have 9 points bring us to 4th place. That means all we need to do is to gain more points than Napoli and same points with Lazio and Udinese.

if we win all 3 remaining matches and Napoli got 1 draw from the remaining matches, we would grab 3rd post. So, basically we depend on Palermo, Bologna and Siena.

Thanks Tanel. But how come Udinese are ahead of us (head to head)??

If we are to talk about those missed penalties, then the two losses against Novara would come as well. No point in thinking about the past as to what should had happened here and then.

Yeah, Napoli have an easy schedule on paper and we have like the 3 toughest games. As our coach said, Parma has been doing very well lately but I hope that their recent form gotta end some day and I hope it will be against us.

Then again, same can be said about us. If we manage to get 3 points against Parma, then comes the Milan derby. If those two games weren't enough, then our last game will be against Lazio in Rome. How worst can this get. But well, we have sucked alot this season with two coaches and it is time for the 3rd one to help us.

It really feels nice that the players are doing well, goals are coming again, half times are no more scary, substitutes are no more shocking. Too bad we had to wait this late for all these but well, we have that slightest hope, which we didn't still 5 weeks back and that feels good. It will hurt more if we fail on the last day but it would still be worth it.

That being said, we should still do a lot when it comes to scoring and defending. Hopefully, the key players and even bench players like Poli, Guarin, Obi would not get injured/suspended till the last game of the season.

Among these 4 horses, we have the hardest schedule...I don't think we need complex calculation.
We NEED to win the three remaining games, and then happens what will happen (if we achieve that, I'm confident we'll go to CL since we will be sure ahead of Lazio and Udinese, and I'm sure Napoli will drop @ least 2 points).
As for the scudetto, I know that people here (and I'm among them) hate Juve more than Milan so they were rooting for them for the scudetto. These times are over. Juve to win next game and Milan to lose will be helpful since gobbi will secure the scudetto and Milan won't be extra-motivated for the derby...

Inter: 9 points + 55 = 64
vs Parma: 5-0 (H)
vs Milan: 0-1 (A)
vs Lazio: 2-1 (H)

Napoli: 5 + 55 = 60
vs Palermo: 1-3 (A)
vs Bologna: 1-1 (H)
vs Siena: 1-1 (A)

Udinese: 6 + 55 = 61
vs Cesena: 4-1 (H)
vs Genoa: 3-2 (A)
vs Catania: 2-1 (H)

Lazio: 3 + 55 = 58
vs Siena: 4-0 (A)
vs Atalanta: 2-0 (H)
vs Inter: 1-2 (A)

So, based on the first leg, the result would be:

3. Inter
4. Udinese
5. Napoli
6. Lazio

We need Naples to get a draw and for us to win out. Lazio can't even field a team and I think we can outscore Parma. It all comes down to Napoli getting a draw and beating Milan

We just need to win stop the nonsense.

THey are not head to head of us team vs team. But in mini-table, thye have collected more points in games between Napoli, Inter, Udinese and Lazio. THey have win vs us, win vs Lazio, draw vs Lazio and draw vs Napoli. We have only got a win against them and Lazio. In case more teams than 2 finish on same position, the head to head goal difference between two teams does not matter but the points collected in the games between the 3 or more teams matter.
