As far as I know Mariga won with Parma promotion last year, so he does know how to win. And Parma was one of the revelation of the Serie A for some time, with Mariga being their best player, from what I've read.

As for wrong habits/work ethics I don't know, but african players are usually hard workers, and the last thing they lack is work ethics, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hey Luka, I was talking about loaning players out to lesser teams, in this case Krhin. I think Jose value him a lot and wants to have a say in his development and sees him as someone who will progress. I dont think even at his time in Chelsea or so far at Inter, Jose tends to loan out youngsters for development! He just doesnt have the mindset! MAybe this is his strength or weakness, I am not sure!
Look at what happened with Fernandes, he was playing with a broken bone and fracture at Valencia, which was not picked up.
Not that it cannot happen to anyone, but Jose doesnt risk his players he likes and doent trust them in anyone else's hand!

Do you think that if Krhin was ready to start couple (or even one) of games for us, wouldn't Jose give him a chance just like Santon got his?
Well midfielder is a slightly more important posirtion on the field, more to do etc. But Krhin was in no way worse than Muntari has been. What has impressed more than anything is his off the ball movement, desire for the ball, and accuracy of his passing.

We don't know if Krhin is ready yet, simply because he never even started for us, and when he did play, he was cool, but he didn't exactly did something amazing.
Nor has Mariga, he's just a big dude, more physical, slightly more pacy. But def poorer technically.

How can he play in Coppa if he has been injured?
was he injured for the Juve game? And being a leader or captain doesn't say too much IMO. Anyone watch Kenya play

I think the reason for taking Mariga is his experience in SerieA. I also think, he will get important leadership qualities and work ethics!
I firmly believe, it is no joke to break out with the humble background that he apparently has started from!

Who do you think from the midfield should have been rested for the game so as to allow Krhin to play? We were already without a lot of key players, and yet we could not afford to loose the match!

I hate Juve too but really? Coppa? Let the youth players get walloped, let them at least learn. Wenger has been doing this for years, fielding youth players in cup games, why can't we.

If we're going to sign anyone on the basis of experience why not go after CMFs like Poli or Dzemaili?

I'm sorry, I totaly missunderstood you, and I thought you're talking about Mariga playing for low level club, while you were talking about Krhin loaned to low level club. Ok.

First winning mentality, is something that is more an asset of a team, rather then a single player. For example, you bring Milito who never won anything, who didn't play exactly for great teams, and here he is coming and he is "inhalating" the winning mentality from other players who are already part of this team for some time. So even if Krhin was loaned to a team who is very low in the standings, for him it is not important. He is suppose to play, to improve, and not worry about other things, after all he is part of Inter.

Work ethics is something that if person has, then that person should continue doing that no matter where that person is. I don't think that will be the problem.

The biggest problem from the three is the last one, and that is say in the development, and by that not development per se, but playing time. That can be hardly guaranteed especially with a loan. That's why Co-own deals were so popular in Italy, because with it, a team that owns the player has self interest to make his value rise, and the team can only do it by playing the player.

I think that if the bottom teams would guarantee us that those players would play all the time, we would loan a lot of players. Serie a experience is very important, especialy for players who already trained enough, and need to play to help their improvement.

The problem is that those teams will not guarantee that while players go there on loans.

Well midfielder is a slightly more important posirtion on the field, more to do etc. But Krhin was in no way worse than Muntari has been. What has impressed more than anything is his off the ball movement, desire for the ball, and accuracy of his passing.
Hard to say Krhin was no worse than Muntari who played a lot, a lot more than Krhin. And even though Muntrari didn't shine, you still could find someone to play worse than that. From a 6.0 scale, there is 5 grades lower too.

Mariga is a first team player for Parma who was not so long ago very high in the standings. That is not a "small" detail.

And that is why Wenger has not won anything for years. Mate, this is a stepwise process as has been proven, and you need to have players of that quality and risk not winning at the expense of loosing few tournaments!
Do you think our fans would have allowed the team to loose! Did you hear Moratti's statement before the match, "lets eliminate Juve". Do you think he would have tolerated loosing simply to develop players? I doubt it...but then again I maybe wrong...

You are not wrong.

That is exactly a difference, between "developing" players at Inter, and say Parma/Palermo (or on higher level Arsenal).

At Inter you have to win, at those other teams you don't have to win (Arsenal fans can argue, but they didn't win anything for a long time, and it's no coincidence).

That's why a youngster who is being developed by Inter must be of great quality, high enough to fit (at least a little) the quality of the team overall, because if he doesn't that can cost the team.

While at lower teams (or teams that don't have much money and must play young players for that reason) they can allow themselves to loose games (not win championships), they don't have this pressure (of winning) and can put instead of 2 players (Santon and Balotelli) 4, 5, 6 young players, and also have couple on the bench. And then through all of those, through playing, they harness 1, 2 players who came out pretty good, but in the process they lost couple of games, because the youngsters weren't good enough yet.

Parma had probably one objective this year - not to get relegated. Palermo has objective like get to Uefa Cup, and maybe to the 4th spot. Fiorentina has only one objective, and that is CL spot.

The higher you go up the ladder, you will notice the less risk the team takes, and the less youngsters they try to include in the team. Who Fiorentina developed since Montolivo?

I only hear them buying all the time. Where is Papa-Waigo, where is Pazzini ?

You go to Parma, Atalanta, you see half a dozen of younsters being included in the team year after year.

One is more important than the other, but neighter equals the objective of Inter - win all the time, and being competetive in CL.

This is very tough situation for a youngster to being developed into a first team player.

This is not a coincidence, Milan has only one Maldini, Lazio had only one Nesta, Juve has only one Del Pierro etc. etc.

If not for the Calciopoli, Chielini today might be some squad player playing in Palermo, or Siena, simply because he wouldn't have chance to play in JuBe squad, when they had Cannavaro, Thuram etc. etc. The Calciopoli allowed players like Chiellini, Marchisio to become what they are today.

Once they got to Serie A, and they started to put objectives like - competing with Inter over Scudetto and you see what is happening to player like Giovinco.

If we had been relegated tomorrow, you would see all of our younsgters like Krhin, Donatti, Stevanovic, Destro, Belec play a lot, but once we would go back to the current level, the youngsters would again find it difficult to break into first team at Inter.

Well you have a point.

We have many players for those lower positions in midfield, only Sneijder to our AM position.

Cambiasso, Zanetti, Stankovic, Muntari, Motta, Mariga, Krhin. 7 players to 3 positions. Not optimal since two of them have to sit on the stands if everyone are healthy.

Honestly I wouldn't include Zanetti in that list. I think Jose intends to move him back to fullback once we get enough midfielders (and personally, I think he plays best there).

Then we still need at least one starting material player, a leader who can play the ball in midfield. So that makes the number to 8. Involuntarily it comes to my mind that are we going to ship someone?

Yeah, I think it's a good bet we will probably try to get rid of one of Muntari or Motta, maybe both, in the summer (definitely next January if a summer move doesn't materialize). With the new midfielder we will probably bring in this summer (and who knows, we may bring in a second one; you never know, there are always surprises during summer transfers), that makes it 5 guys for 3 spots, 6 if you count JZ, who can sub for our MFs if they get injured. Seems pretty reasonable to me...

so if wenger does is it's a good thing?

i would much rather win the coppa rather than field youngsters and lose

I saw him play for Parma against Udinese at the start of the season and he was one of the best on the pitch. He seemed like more of a box-to-box player than a DM. I hope he does well and can add something to our midfield because it needs all the help it can get.

Hard to say Krhin was no worse than Muntari who played a lot, a lot more than Krhin. And even though Muntrari didn't shine, you still could find someone to play worse than that. From a 6.0 scale, there is 5 grades lower too.

Krhin didn't play enough to compare him to players who played 100x more.
Hard to compare Mariga with his 9 appearances in top flight football to Vieira also, nevertheless a comparison can be made from the little we've seen.

Mariga is a first team player for Parma who was not so long ago very high in the standings. That is not a "small" detail.
Mariga was benched/injured when Parma ascended the table. That is not a small detail either.

Listen I rate the guy, but I don't understand why we're adding another non-technical enforcer to our squad. Where's the creative spark in our midfield. There's at least 10 players I could name available this Winter who can offer us something we don't have and therefore improve the squad. I mean what is Cigarini doing at Napoli besides warming the bench? Samp are seriously lacking in depth, why couldn't we offer them 4 youth players for a loan of Poli. Why didn't we get Dzemaili on loan in the summer from Torino who were relegated. Hell Brighi was available in the summer, Roma didn't give two shits about him (still don't ) there's an intelligent CMF we could've really used, able to play in any position, even behind the strikers... none of this makes sense :moan:

And that is why Wenger has not won anything for years.
Don't generalize Bruv. There are many reasons Wenger hasn't won anything, for one he refuses to sign a CF...
And I would fucking hate it we lost to Juve, coppa or friendly, but we need to look at the bigger picture. If it benefits our youth players then fuck it, lets field them and if they lose, well, we'll get over it, it is after all, for the greater good of the team

What are you guys talking about? Krhin was not ready to be called for Juventus Coppa Italia match. He suffered from is injury still.
Yo why's every other post by you so angry  Your tone is so overly aggressive, you should chill man. I hadn't realized Krhin was out that game. But personally, I woul dhave liked to see 1 youth player fielded. At least Santon was there (not that we had alternatives) but it would've been nice to see Donati.

The higher you go up the ladder, you will notice the less risk the team takes, and the less youngsters they try to include in the team. Who Fiorentina developed since Montolivo?

Oh, harsh. But what about Melo, Santana, Pasqual, Gamberini... even Gilardino to an extent, his game and consistency have improved immeasurably during his time at Fiore. Also Vargas in his new SMF position.
