in mancini's era, most of our goals come from dead ball situation. That's what don't happens under mourinho

from what i remember, we only score 2 or 3 goals from free kick or corner this season so far

There were a lot of goals from set pieces when Matrix and Vieira were playing regularly. Don't forget they also had Figo delivering balls.

I wrote this somewhere else..
it takes time to adapt to 4-3-3, specially for a team that hasn't played 4-3-3 at all. The key is central midfield and how they manage to cover the field. None of your midfields has really experience with 4-3-3. Once you have that, it's over.
Mourinho does a good work. Don't know what people were expecting but the plan should be for the second half of the season and not the first.
Inter has too good of a squad for Serie A, so even with a shaky start, Scudetto should be possible, because the other teams have too many flaws. The key is Europe and that starts in February. Until then, he has to make sure the trial and error process is gone and you have a team. That requires trial and error.
Once 4-3-3 is set though, it should work fine. Just give the man some time and enjoy 90 minute wins, as from a personal experience, these are the sweetest wins.

Guys dont forget our team still have huge space for improvements. We have a new coach who never coached a serie a team before, we have a new tactic that Inter player never played before.

you might be complaining but despite all the troubles we are still first place in serie a, CL and picked up the super cup. Things can only get better from here on!! Forza Inter

Credit to Jose for tonight's win

Mou: Ibra's got just one fault...

Jose Mourinho believes there is only one thing that Zlatan Ibrahimovic lacks. “He never scores ugly goals!”

The Swede smashed in two corkers for Inter's 2-0 victory away to Palermo this evening, a solo effort from distance and a rocket of a free kick.

“To be a complete player, Ibra needs to score an ugly goal! He never seems to get a lucky ricochet or a clumsy tap-in, they are always fantastic goals!” joked the Coach.

“We didn't play the way we wanted to in the first half, but at the same time Palermo made it difficult for us because they have a fantastic spirit and fired up fans. They had a few chances and pushed us in midfield, so it was tricky to combine quick passes.

“In the second half we did not wait for the game to come to us. We discussed at half-time that this was the way we would lose it and this was the way we would win it. I wanted the team tighter and it worked.

“I think Palermo realised the game was practically over when those two goals went in.”

He adjusted the system in Sicily with Julio Cruz partnering Ibrahimovic and Sulley Ali Muntari the tip of a diamond midfield.

“These were important points and we are in front, so tomorrow we can relax and not pay attention to Sunday's results, as whatever happens we are the leaders.

“I played this way because I knew that was Palermo's system with the diamond midfield. [Fabio] Liverani is an important figure for them and Muntari did a good job defensively. We adapted to our opponents, played a solid game and are satisfied with the three points.

“I can simply say that my team can play with different systems and we have the ability to choose. Tonight we chose this way to confront Palermo, next week Juventus will probably have a 4-4-2, but Claudio Ranieri might have a surprise for us.”

Ivan Cordoba will not be there for that top of the table showdown next Saturday, as he picked up a ban.

“Obviously I'm not happy about it, but this is football and today's game was no less important than next week's. In my philosophy it is impossible to leave someone out because he is on a card.

“We have [Nicolas] Burdisso and [Marco] Materazzi, then we will make a decision. [Walter] Samuel is doing well and he will play again.

“A Wednesday of internationals is always terrible for me, as I channel-hop never quite watching anything and wait around for messages on the fitness of all my players around the globe.”

Way better last night. The formation we played, I don't really know what it was, made it possible to create these one-twos that we were so good at under Mancini.

Mourinho Hugs The Man He Replaced At Inter

Past and present Inter coaches Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho met at the 'Panchina d'Oro' awards at Italy's headquarters in Coverciano this morning.

Those who were expecting fireworks or tension between the two were, luckily, left disappointed as both men saluted and hugged each other affectionately, sharing a few words in the process.

All of Serie A's and Serie B's tacticians are present at the meeting and referee designator Pier Luigi Collina has given a talk following all of the hype surrounding match officials over the past two weeks.

However, chiefs at Coverciano have banned the press from the meeting in an attempt to keep affairs secret.

Mourinho also bumped into Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri but the outcome was not the same as with Mancini.

Neither the Bianconero boss nor the Portuguese man have seen eye-to-eye this season, preferring to let their teams' football do the talking when they meet on Saturday.

Juve travel to San Siro to lock horns with the Champions in what is being hyped-up as the game of the season by the Italian media.

One thing Mourinho brought to this team is mentality. You can see that we no longer sit back in the D after we score a goal. Hoping to hang on all game and defend the slender one goal margin.

It was obvious in the last match too, seconds after the restart we scored but our team continue to pour forward to add another goal. It is really delightful to watch!!

We just sat back and went to sleep after scoring under Mancio. Zlatan magic was used to change that.
