oh so games will wome with both direct x's...thats good.

Do you have any recommendations stefan if i want to get a laptop what graphic card i should look for to be in it so i can enjoy some of my games on it? (not the kind, but like geforce go 74000 or what?)

For the next year at least games will come with both dx9 and dx10. Many people are still using xp so it would be stupid to make games just dx10.

I don't know laptops so I can't recommend anything sorry.:(

gf7600 is a midrange card. It should be able to handle most games but you will probably have to turn down some settings.

I have the 640mb. The difference between the 2 is they are the same speed except when you go higher than 1680 x 1050 resolution then the extra ram of the 640mb Gf 8800 gts counts. If you don't game at that resolution or higher go for the 320mb version.

School, internet, ICQ, MSN, SKYPE,... No PC games and that stuff. But I am still afraid of Vista and I would like to have XP there. What do you think about OS?

Well yah if no games and shit i woulld sugest you would go for a laptop that is 14"" or even 12""....15.4" is to big if you are just going to use the laptop for work.

On the OS...i have vista and its pretty good..no problems for me with it..and 2g is excellent for vista.

The laptop will be fine for what you want to use it for. And don't be scared of vista. It will handle everything xp can handle. And 2 gig ram will be fine as long as you don't go 64 bit os.

64 bit needs more ram. 4 gig is recommend and it's faster if you have a 64 bit processor.

I have both the 32bit and 64 bit versions but I have the 32bit one installed cause of the ram issue. Also 64 bit has issues with compatibility of certain programs and hardware drivers aren't always available.

This is 32 bit version and everything seems to be OK. If necessary, I will upgrade my RAM to 4 GB.

Thank you for all the info. :)

If you upgrade to 4 gb you will only be able to use 3.5gb. Thats a limitation of all 32bit operating systems.:)

If there's a hotfix just download it from the ms website and run the installer. You don't have to extract anything with vista hotfixes.

Also maybe check the manufacturer of the external drive for updated drivers.

I have the latest drivers fo the external drive i have.

The hotfix isnt for download on the MS website....you have to specifcally ask for it and then Microsoft sends you an email with the link to download the hotfix..i download it then after that i have to extract it to a place but i dont know where.
