Lautaro is now our longest serving player alongside De Vrij.
Is that our eligibility criteria for captaincy? Shouldn't be the case. De Vrij for example shouldn't be considered.

It hasn't been discussed that we've lost the few "leaders" we had in one window: Brozovic, Skrinair, Onana, even Lukaku. A captain should be vocal, calm under pressure, consistent and/or offer world class quality. 3 of the 4. Toro lacks consistency (consistenly so) and Barella is too emotional. My pick would be Bastoni, he exudes a calm/quiet confidence but it's still quite early in his career and he lacks a cutthroat edge. I'm surprised Hakan wasn't considered, he is Turkey captain and expressed interest while at Milan. Not perfect but the best fit for now.

No way it should be bastoni he's never been fit for a full season just last year he was beating up a chair and being subbed against udinese

Lautaro is a good option imo. There aren't any examples that are more obvious or fitting that Lautaro.

He also leads by example - I can't think of many strikers who work harder for the team. He also doesn't have Barella's annoying tendency of complaining to teammates (Although I love Barella).

What happens when he goes through his routine goal drought and we need to bench him? Captains should be consistent and ever reliable. Not injury prone or mercurial in terms of form. Hakan is the best choice as of now. Possibly DiMarco.

Imo should be:

1-Lautaro
2-Dimarco
3-Bastoni or Barella

Dimarco has leader instinc plus he is a alpha male.
