Declining my ass. The guy is 28, in his prime and has been the one of the best midfielders in the world for the past few seasons. This season he has 9 non penalty goals and 8 assists in the league.

You wanting a mediocre fuck to rot on the bench for the next few years and then sold to Torino for 5m is how a typical inter fan thinks
Yeah he's 28. Is he going to get better over the next 5 years or worse? Do you understand the meaning of the word "declining"? You want Inter to remain the geriatric squad of Europe? We need younger talent but here you are bitching about wanting a player who's value has already halved from its peak. We're just not in the financial position to blow 50 mil on an ageing star to sell him for 10 in a few years. That can't be our model anymore, wake the fuck up.

Considering the fact that Inter's starting XI includes 34 year old Mhki, 35 year old Acerbi & 37 yr old Dzeko, all of whom were recent signings, SMS is a spring chicken. You can argue that it will be good to sign some youngsters for the future, specially in midfield where we already have quality starters & can afford to give time for the new signing to settle & grow. But lets not equate signing a 28 year old at his prime to a geriatric policy.

Anyways, just to weigh in with my opinionon this SMS vs Frattesi argument, I would rather Inter sign Frattesi. Mainly coz of Inter's/Suning's financial situation & the reason I mentioned above. Inter should focus on reducing the wage bill, so that there is less need to sell our key players. But SMS is clearly the much better player & if Inter had money I would clearly prefer him. 40m for SMS is a bargain in todays market & I suspect this value is low only coz his contract expires next year.

Fine. It's not good business for a team like Inter today.

You forget that Dzeko and Miki were free transfers. Is SMS gonna be for free? Higher wages, 35-40 mil transfer fee.

Don't have one.

Why do you think that every player above 28 will drastically decline or even decline at all in a foreseeable future? Maybe he becomes even better. Luka modric is 37, and he is still one of the best mids in the world.

A lot of people here view players rise and decline trough football manager or video game algorithms of rise, decline and logic which is almost completely dependent on age, but reality is much more complex than that.

It depends, some like Gavi or Pedri who start very early and run to the ground I expect no more than 30 in highest level or decline early than usual or Ronaldo, Perisic, Dzeko type who can run towards 38 no problem, then there is … a certain crocodile.

If Gavi and Pedri keep playing so many games constantly, I except them to decline much earlier than 30.

Damn, I thought SMS being a top midfielder was a unanimous opinion. I guess I was wrong.
Well, to be that you need to prove it in big club. Nobody say he cant or wont make it, but so far for me he is not worth of that money.

I don't like it that some days ago it seemed like a done deal and now there is like no movements. I expect the sell of Gosens for around 15-20 million as really difficult especially for Bundesliga clubs and besides that there is only the rumour of Brozo joining CR7's club.

Right now I really expect us choking and getting our player snatched in front of us again.

SMS is good but not worth what Lazio (and himself) is asking. A Nainggolan-esque but two years younger. We should think twice before spending this year and next yearS budget on a single player.

I know his lifestyle is better but what if he fails? Must consider the risk. The price nosedives and not a single team could afford his salary. Not the luxury as long as Suning is in charge.

Ok man. For every Modric there are 100 "insert player x's".

What big club did Milito play for before he won us CL in his first CL season ever?

What big club did Kvaratskhelia play for before winning Serie A in his first season with Napoli?

SMS playing for Lazio doesn't make him not worth that money? They finished on the table in front of Inter and clearly he is one of their best assets. SMS in this Inter would flourish!

I don't follow Croatians closely, but I've noticed that Perisic as well is very well fit for 34 years old. Brozo is still a machine despite he is not some special diet or whatever. It could be genetics. Darijo Srna also had a quite long football life.

If Brozo want's to leave then he should, i don't want a Skriniar remake were we could have made 20-30M and at the end we had to give him for free.
Get Frattesi sell Brozo.

Brozovic has still 3 years left of his deal. He's not going anywhere anytime soon (if he doesn't want to and the buyer puts enough money on the table).

How much Milito cost us? How much Napoli paid for Kvara? Did they cost more than 50mil? Not.
