10 years of FIFThe sad part is that none of the mentioned players (Skriniar, Bastoni) wants to leave.
Skriniar has been here for 5 years and has been giving 100% for this club. We all know how Conte treated him at first but he stayed calm, refused to leave and earned his place again in the starting XI's. Also, he has mentioned several times that he would like to stay here at least the years Hamsik played for Napoli.
Bastoni is an unique CB - solid in defense and still has great ball control and vision how to move the ball forward. Not to mention that he is 23 years old, an italian and a true nerazzurro. In a recent interview, he even stated that hopes to have a second daughter so he could name her Nera (the first one is called Azzurra).

Dybala being free will be sunings justification for selling a star. By selling pina and De Vrij we could have both Dybala and Bremer come in and improve our squad greatly while likely MAKING money because De vrij and Pina likely net more than 40 million.

10 years of FIFChillBro suggested the most credible explanation. There is some clause/agreement in the Oaktree deal that we are committed to sell big before July etc and then we can spend some. And then next summer the same thing.
This would make it sure for Oaktree that the club is not TOO fucked financially in a case Suning can't repay the loan and club goes to Oaktree.
edit. This is the most credible because we rushed the Hakimi deal so fast last summer. Now the rumors look the same, we are looking to dump the first player who's getting big enough offers. According to rumors that seems to be Bastoni which is just a damn shame. Selling him for 60m€ is a fucking travesty. It should start with 80m€.
