When you put it one way, Marotta + Ausilio are performing nothing short of a miracle. Replacing Eriksen, Hakimi, and Lukaku with Hakan, Dumfries, and Dzeko for roundabout 12m is good work - add 40/50m for whoever is going to bring us 15+ goals this season and while it's not a good transfer session, it's saved us from utter disaster.
On the other hand, the complete inability to sell or make any money from Dalbert, Lazaro, Joao Mario, Pinamonti, and Nainggolan is damning. Nainggolan is especially shit, considering Cagliari want him, got Dalbert,
and we want Nandez, how the fuck hasn't a deal been made there
We also still have to shift Vidal and possibly Vecino, and find loans for Agoume, Salcedo, and Satriano. Couple all that that with renewing Kolarov, giving Dzeko ridiculous wages, still no Brozo or Lautaro renewal, it paints a completely different (and shit) picture.
I don't want to factor in the goalkeeper situation, as I keep reading on Twitter that Onana has signed for us for 2022 but no one official (ie Romano, Di Marzio, Pedulla) has said anything yet.
We also sold Hakimi and Lukaku for
under their market value, which is absolutely nuts. In fact, if we'd waited to sell Hakimi we could have avoided doing it completely.
So I don't know. It's definitely not good so far, but it's not an abject disaster. Really depends on that last striker purchase.
