Why would Icardi be an option? Fuck that.

Haaland should be our choice but let's not kid ourselves. But I still view him as the ideal choice.

Best case if this goes through is to get SMS for the mc spots, plus Vlahovic and Muriel for the attack.

Lazio won't deal with us favorably but there's a chance they'll allow us to sweeten the deal with someone like Vecino. Fiorentina would also not be easy to deal with, but you can arrange the payment structure.

He loses way too many chances to trust him as the main scorer. We need a clinical finisher next to him.
Let him play our main striker and he will score over 20 goals in the league like Lukaku.

Add Vlahovic and these guys will be devastating. Vlahovic is young, developing talent who has already shown he has a lot of skill, scoring 21 goals in Serie A at that age. And the eye-test tells he would be an excellent target player. He can probably develop to be even better target player than Lukaku who became good at it with Conte. He sucked at it when he arrived Inter.

As you say, Vlahovic simply passes the eye test with flying colours. Dude is on another level than Lukaku or Lautaro in terms of technique, and scores a wider variety of goals. Should be our ONLY target but like everyone else, I fear that we'll settle for a slightly cheaper, "safe" option like Zapata.

Zapata would be fine for 20mil or something as rotation level guy, but he's no better than that. If he's our main striker signing after selling Lukaku we're boned.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Suning allowed any big purchase, bigger than 30-40mil.

Vlahović and Lautaro would be great duo. But I would rather play with one striker, like Inzaghi did in Lazio, and splashing money on SMS and proper wingback. Cahla would be our Luis Alberto. SMS-Broz-Barella midfield would be a monster.

It seems more and more likely that Zapata will be Lukaku's replacement.

What a deep fall from grace man. Conte -> Inzaghi, Hakimi -> Nandez, Lukaku -> Zapata.

On the bright side, it seems Hakan is a fantastic signing by virtue of the absolute travesty that is every other fucking signing.

Since they have decided to go for Zapata, at least also secure Raspadori before his value reaches the sky next summer. Even if Zapata works out for us, it's an extremely slow term solution for our attack. Especially with Lautaro's contract situation.

Not sure Nandez is going to be Hakimi replacement. Now they have money to spend they may go for their reportedly top target Dumfries.

According to Sky, Inter have already agreed personal terms with Zapata. Atalanta are asking for 40m, bonus included.

One should never react prematurely, however this rumour alone makes me almost panicky.

I NEVER understand why we should go for Zapata but not +20m more for Vlahovic, 9 years younger and already better player.

Plus, unlike Fiorentina, for Atalanta we are helping IMMENSELY our direct rival, whom will kick us out of top4 next season with the heavy coffer being gifted.

40m for a 30yo? Come on Beppe, you are smarter than this.

The best part about this would be giving €40M to Atalanta, who find incredible value out of players from smaller leagues at 1/20th these kinds of fees.

They'll reinvest our money, develop more gems, and continue kicking our fucking ass. All at the cost of paying way too much money for someone older than Lukaku who has never shown anything outside Gasperini's system.

It's fucking madness of the highest order.

Yeah :D

Atalanta will use Zapata money to buy a player who in 1-2 years will be better than Zapata. And they will finish above Inter on the table already this season.

It's humiliation written all over this deal. Don't we learn anything from Nainggolan, 30-year-old expensive transfer? Of course it's not comparable in all aspects but for fucks sake. We do a great financial deal and basically ruin part of the greatness by doing a poor financial deal right after.
