The stereotype about 3-5-2 is that it is archaic, provincial and mainly based on long balls and crosses. However, games like this shows why most managers in their right minds always say that formation does not matter.

great start..both tactically and mentally the team looks good..still have a lot of room for improvement..

I only saw the highlights reel. Looked like a good game overall. Please tell me if this summary is right?

Defending was poor from our side but we should be conscious that probably two starting defenders are out arm
Some fairly poor keeping from lecce, probably all 4 of our goals were "saveable". Martinez really should have scored one or two though from the highlights reel and brozo could have had another.

Looks like we want to keep possession around the box which is really good. The key thing for me is getting good balance in midfield, a midfield is literally the sum of its components and how they play together, rather than any individual player.

Totally agree with Brehme. Most of our new players are from lower clubs and they might get the Inter bug quick if something goes wrong. Just like everytime in the past few seasons.

@.h. - a lot of things could be better, but we have acknowledge that our midfield and suprisingly Candreva :slick: are doing very good. Still not sure about Lukaku and Lautaro, but Conte will figure something out.

Yeah - the key is the midfield as I've been saying all decade. Ranocchia was a disaster because there were so many times every game he would have to be switched on. At least with a midfield, we should reduce the number of chances for him to shit his pants. Give me a good midfield over s good defense or good attack any day of the week.

I thought the only saveable goal was the third. Not sure he should have done anything about any of the other shots, Sensi's was extremely well-placed and his vision was covered by one of the defenders.

The only thing i didn't understand was why we were defending so deep in the box.
I mean there were whole minutes during the match where we would be pushed with 8 man inside the box even though lecce was not creating anything special.

During pre season i used to see our line way higher (except man utd match) and much more pressure being done.

Conte on the line shows more intensity than most of our players last season. That energy is infectious.

Also a lot of fans at juventuz.com were seriously butthurt by Conte's celebrations. That was fun too.
