Strange subs, sticking with Valero and Candreva for longer than he should have.

Still, he made it into CL with a ridiculously thin squad. No mean feat. B+, now let's see what he's capable of with proper reinforcements.

He did his job. I don't think he'll be the coach to return us to the top of Italian football, but a couple years of stability will help.

We didn’t win the scudetto lol. We got 4th by the skin of our teeth. Mancini managed 4th iirc. I like spalletti, he’s the best we can do for now, and consistency from the managers spot is key. However, if simeone were to suddenly step down from atletico, I would hand him a blank check

I dont think he could have done much more with such a weak squad. We have a really solid starting 11 bar 1 or 2 positions, but when one of Perisic or Icardi is having an off day we really struggle. Suning, time to give this man a chance. We need a new RW along with Cancelo and Rafinha and we need some god damn depth for cover and tactical flexibility. Excited to see what he can do if he is given that.

you know what, Spalletti was playing good football in Roma if i remember correctly.
but this year has been the most ugly football i think he ever played.

all i remember from this year was crosses, chokes, and more crosses, disgusting !

i hope it's just because the wingers suck, but it's his wingers and i blame him for not asking for other players. and i also blame him for getting Valero and Vecino who were disastrous this season.

you can't win the scudetto with mid tier shits like the kind of players he likes. he doesn't have that champion mentality, this is Inter not fucking Roma.

i hope that we get a big name to coach the team next year, a coach that says in his first press conference, i'm here to win the Scudetto, get me real players or go fuck yourselfs Suning.

More than anything we need a new midfield. Juventus came back to the top, with Pirlo-Vidal-Marchisio-Pogba at its center. We can't keep relying on Vecinos and Valeros.

In my opinion this guy is hands-down the best coach we have had since Jose. However, one thing that annoyed me (as an armchair specialist that I am) throughout the season were his substitutions: mostly late, and uninspired (see Santon vs Juventus).

Tonight I was yelling at the screen for him to sub Vecino as soon as possible. Also, it didn't even cross my mind to bring Rano in while the score was still level. Instead he kept Vecino, who scored the winner; and brough in Frog, who had a positive impact both at the goal and for defending the lead.

Hats off to Luciano! I considered him partially responsible for the loss vs Juventus, due to the uninspired subs; as such it is only fair to commend him for his inspiration vs Lazio. Who knows if we would've still won, had he made the substitutions I requested from my armchair.

All in all, a miracle happened last night, one that I did not think possible till the 80th minute. Let's see what this guy can do if the owners keep their promise, and invest in the squad accordingly.

Good, balanced post. It is important to credit the coach when he does not make the obvious subs and it works, because that is what a quality coach has over armchair specialists like us. Yes, it does mean that sometimes he will get it wrong. But you have to look at a coach's body of work overall.

This is why I have had my faith in Spalletti all season. We know his history, we know his quality, and now he has proven it by achieving our main objective.

Been a while. Congrats for the win everyone!

But let's remember, and this is especially for the management. We had practically thrown away the CL spot. After the start we had to this season, after the comeback and lead against Juve, and after all screw ups by Lazio in last 3 rounds, I don't think we deserved the CL spot. But it is fucking amazing that we got here. Missing out this year would surely have meant losing Icardi, Skriniar, and the ones on loan, which would probably lead to another 3 years of rebuilding and mediocrity.

This is the time when the management has to do well. The beginning is great with De Vrij and Asamoah. But we need a good midfielder, and 2 wingers to be remotely competitive in coming season. Our team is just not able to score goals, and that has to change.

It's time that Inter is back and it's time that Inter comes!

He deserves all the praise, and not only for achieving the CL spot.

He survived the infamous winter crisis working with limited resources, and he did it keeping a clear direction that finally paid off and could bear fruit next season, with some support.

If there's something we were looking for quite a long time, it's continuity. And right now, the Mad Man from Certaldo offers that.

Then, que sera, sera. #spallettism

I think Spalletti overachieved with this team, and given all the chaos that happened from broken transfer promises, to the slump and then Sabatini leaving, didn't break his resolve. He fully deserves every acclaim.
