I have never bought a jersey with a player's name on it! I'm not even sure why.

I wouldn't buy a jersey with a players name myself, ever. Not that I'm going to buy a jersey in general, just don't see where I'd be wearing it.

I've heard different arguments. Some feel weird being older than the players themselves. They don't want to wander around with the name of some brat on their back.

I enjoy them a lot. They look good in a collection and as single pieces. Sometimes I link them with a memory, like last years jersey with Icardi, since he was the top scorer. Or like Zanetti in his last jersey. I like to represent Inter and sometimes like to represent a player. They feel really plain if there isn't anything on the back, but I'd never put my own name or something like that on it. It's a it hard to explain. Somewhat it's like fandom everwhere. Just like having a Darth Vader mask sitting around or some figurine. They remind you of something and that makes you happy. I feel like that.

I feel like I buy them with no names because eventually I love the club the most. I actually wear them a lot in public (uni, gym and casual places with friends) and I like the fact that I'm letting people know I support this club. I also admire the design of most of the jerseys I buy and think they're cool to wear and I do get that some people think it's cheesy and lame.

Tell those people they're dumb.

As you say I love the club the most, but love some players as well. The club is represented by the jersey itself. Everything else is added on and doesn't hurt in my opinion. I had season with no names as well in the last few years, since I had no name I really wanted on it. I just like people to know that I love Zanetti, Cambiasso, Milito and Maicon apart from the club. That's why I also have C.Ronaldo or Reuss jerseys.

Oh yeah I wear them around a lot as well. When doing sports all the time and really like to wear them in the summer when just hanging around.

Edit: I just love the sight of this in my room

that's what I'm trying to say here.

2nd Edit: I had not purchased my Zanetti Jersey yet there. I've added two more since the picture was taken.

I lost my away Zanetti jersey, the one from the season we had the serpent on the sleeve. Very pissed off.

How did you lose a football jersey?

Club legend Javier Zanetti spoke with Clarin regarding his relationship with compatriot Mauro Icardi, the Inter captain who is enduring a bad spell under Mancini. “We always talk. He must realise what jersey he is wearing. I have never interfered with his private life, but I try to make him understand what it means to play for Inter”. Until now no chance for Maurito for Argentina: “He will get his chance – said the Inter vice president -. The Olympic games will be a good opportunity to make himself known. He has it all in front of him. Mauro has the movements of Crespo, Batistuta, he is that type of number nine”. Zanetti also spoke about his new role in management: “I’m very well, I’m very happy because it gives me the chance to stay connected to Inter and because there are so many things to do. From the inside there is a different perspective on things. The fact that I am now on the other side makes me realise that there are so many things that make a team and every other area function in a club like Inter. It’s a great challenge and a big responsibilty. I try to be useful, I represent the club in the world and I like it a lot”. Then the weight of his career: “I feel pride. Not for having won so many titles, I always put this in the background, but how I built my career. From my beginnings, in Talleres, then at Banfield. The switch from Banfield to Inter was very difficult at the time. Then I remained in Milan for 20 year, I was the only foreigner, captain… Not even dreaming that I would have such a career. The record of games with Inter and Argentina? Only now I realize what I have achieved. When you play you don’t have time to think about it. Now that I have stopped I value those accomplishments. When I start thinking about it the numbers are impressive: I played more than 1,100 matches! There aren’t many who can”.

ZANETTI: "LET’S STAY UNITED AND RESPOND"
http://www.inter.it/en/news/51003

"It’s a shame for our fans. We can’t look for excuses. The shirt needs to be honoured every time, with the players leaving everything on the pitch," said the vice president

MILAN – Inter vice president Javier Zanetti has urged the Nerazzurri to stick together and respond to the 3-0 defeat to AC Milan on Sunday night.

"It’s a shame for our fans, we were all expecting a different result. Sadly we’ve suffered a defeat – that was the result on the pitch. We can’t look for excuses or alibis, we just need to stay united, take responsibility and respond. We stuck together when things were going well, so we stick together now," said Zanetti.

Asked for his opinion on new signing Eder’s performance, Zanetti replied: "He’s a great player who can help us. Eder’s a player that can make a contribution on the defensive side of things too. Right now we need to work on the players’ mental state, after these two defeats. We need to stick together and work hard to get out of this situation. We play again on Wednesday so there’s no time to dwell on the defeat."

Zanetti then issued a rallying cry for the months ahead: "We need to realise the situation we’re in and give that extra something. On Wednesday we have a chance to leave these two matches and the whole month of January behind and kick on again. January’s been a tough month for us.

"We need to show great mental strength, be positive and try to keep things simple. The Inter shirt needs to be honoured every time, with the players leaving everything on the pitch. The lads did that up until a month ago and they haven’t forgotten how to do it. We need to show humility and put the hard work in."

Not a season will pass by in my life where I didn't wish Zanetti was still playing. This guy truly was something else on the field.

In my eyes, Zanetti > Maldini

Different bodies and characteristics decline differently. Zanetti clearly had amazing genes. You're basing whether or not Maldini was better than Zanetti based on longevity? Then Zanetti must logically be the greatest defender of all time, which isn't true. And to be fair, Zanetti would have probably struggled against Adriano had he faced him off when he was 40 in his last season (although, he may have been able to hold his own had he gotten consistent gametime ahead of Jonathan after returning from injury because time out at that age makes it more difficult to come back). Zanetti also never played into his 40s, wtf?

They were both complete, and Zanetti was more complete, but they had different strengths and it depends what you're looking for. Maldini was defensively better in his prime. On the other hand, Zanetti was better going forward because of his insane dribbling (although his off the ball runs and crossing weren't consistently world class). His crossing always confused me a little bit. I've seen lots of games when he was "younger" and he showed perfect technique, while as he got older it became a lot more inconsistent. Although he did also go forward less often.

And this is one of the main reasons why I love Inter and hate Bbilan and Rube...they can't even respect their own legends...

it says Maldini is unemployed,Del Piero was sent to "vaffanculo" around the world and JZ became our vice-president.
Inter at least as flawed as they are...takes care of their legends...with respect

The way Milan treated Maldini was truly shameful

I mean, even such a class act like Maldini literally gave them a middle finger on his final match

I'd be embarrassed tbh

Zanetti, Maldini, Del Piero, Kahn etc. (Giggs too but there are some shameful rumours about him)-endemic species.

Glad that he is still in the club.
