If the child is his you think he would at least try and be in the child's life having been adopted and all. Didn't he really resent his birth parents at one time?

Yes he did. He doesn't see his biological parents alot. He wanted a DNA-test, the mother of the child agreed but on the day of the test he didn't show up. He should know better as an adopted person.
