I don’t know about you, but for me this world cup has been a rather mixed bag. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to tomorrows game, lets see how the Italians fair against surprise package Australia, in the mean time I’m quite eager to hear your views and share mine on this world cup adventure
The East
Where do I begin, I’m somewhat neutral when it comes to the WC, there’s only one team I support and they didn’t even qualify!!! So I was hoping to see some surprises, I was especially keen to see how the Eastern European teams fair. The Czech’s were considered the dark horses so were Serbia and Montenegro, Poland had some decent players, especially Smolarek! Instead Serbia and Montenegro were amazingly brushed aside with ease, this is from a team who were a record breaking defensive outfit (Maybe the loss Vidic is a lot more influential than we think…)
The Czechs, well they started brilliantly but the injuries to their crew seemed to have shattered all their character, sorry lads! Poland…They put up a good fight, they can go home proud, Ukraine showed guts, but I can’t really root for them…Not when they are captained by Sheva (Good riddance!)
Pele’s Prophecy
Pele’s predication that an African team would win the World Cup by the year 2000 is often seen as evidence of the continents failure on the international stage and arguably that Pele is just a mere mortal like you and me (If his TV advert giving advice about erection problems wasn’t obvious enough, the greatest man ever to grace football can’t score in bed…how depressing :rules
"Mine is this big" - Pele
The African sides can all leave the stage with their pride in place, especially the Ivory Cost who made sure to give the “Group of Death” a good challenge, now lets hope Ghana can do the same…Hell I somewhat hope they beat Brazil, even though I am desperately hoping an Inter player wins the WC!!!
Poor S.Korea
I still feel bad for the Koreans, I’m sorry for my interista French supporters but if you ask me the French are very lucky to have made it, if only the Swiss weren’t so god damn good…Apparently the lost Senderos, divine justice?
Fat Ronnie?
Good old Ronnie, it was quite depressing watching him play in the opening game against Croatia, I hardly saw him run at all…But that all changed when they faced Zico’s below par Japan, anyhow I found it quite amusing when the commentators starting a discussion about what his BMI score might be, so…
Ronaldo’s Body Mass index
24.5 (0.5 more and he would be in the overweight category)
From fat to muscles, anyone quite surprised about how stocky Tevez looks? He was never this tough looking in his Primera Division days, god know what Corinthians are feeding him.
Teves before
After...:dazed: :undecide:
Pekerman
I’m not sure what goes in his impractical psyche, how can you interpret a man who names his pets after tournaments he won? Why in the world is Sorin Captain? He had around 40 caps around the 2002 world cup, and has won well over 30 since Pekerman took charge, back in 2002 Zanetti and Ayala had well over 70 caps! I can see Sorin captaining Villarreal, since he’s quite a journeyman but how do you make him a national captain when he faked illness in Barcelona to attend a heavy metal concert?!!?! I guess every man deserves a second chance & what’s his beef with Cambi??? All this thinking is making my brain melt lets go to simple...
Favorite WC goal
Cambiasso’s
Favorite WC moment
Materazzi scoring
WC Fan I want to marry
WC Fans I want to screw
I was supposed to be a WC performer but so far I have underperformed
I wasn’t supposed to be a WC performer but so far I have over performed (Quite rightly if I say so myself)
I had a difficult season but that hasn’t stopped me from performing
