Italy are among the eight seeded teams for Friday's 2006 World Cup draw in Lipsia. The other seven nations are host country Germany, World Cup holders Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Spain and Mexico.

No it's fine. It's just that they don't change the points in difficulty terms. Just victories and goals... USA beats Jamaica, Costa Rica, Guatemala etc etc

How on earth england and spain be seeded? I know they are big teams but let's forgwt who plays for them, and what's their past, and let's llok how they did in qualif. for world cup

Spain....a team that played extra qualif. is seeded!!!!
And countrys like croatia (not cause I am crotian) that didn't lose not even one game, and beated sweden twice, home and away, is above spain???

and there are few more countrys so much better in qulif. then spain, england.....

Mexico,spain and england are probaly seeded for economic reasons. if you read the fifa rules clearly it states teams can be said for those reason and we know these 3 countries have a big tv audience.

were is the point of playing qualif. then? let them chose 32 teams for euro and world cup and that's it

spain played like sh!t, without game, without big passion, and llok at countrys like croatia, ukrania, poland....they finished 1st in group, dominated...why?

Mhh cro just if u don t know the fifa counts the last to wc also fore the seedings so thats why Holland, Ukraine, Poland are not in the first pot when it comes to croatia even i can t explain

They took into account the results from the last 2 world cups and the fifa ranking(which is LOOOOL) so according to that, the countries are rightly seeded. oh well..

I agree SPain shouldnt have been there..another team on that list shouldnt be there but for Spain I have no clue why they are there..

They have always been disasterous in WC compared to the talent they have,and they also struggled to get into this one..It could be that FIFA put them on top of a group so that they dont have a hard time qualifying..

Holland and Sweden (two of the most consistant teams in recent world cups) shoulda been instead of Mexico and Spain! :stuckup:
