In my defence, the game wasnt that far off (atleast I thought it wasnt, turned out I had about 6 hours) and I needed to make up 70 posts. I put them all in that thread because no one used it and it wasnt going to bother anyone. To say I had to 'earn' posts is silly, IMO. If I made 100 posts saying "I agree", in different threads, would that be ok? Its added absolutely nothing to the arguement, yet my post count is up. Access to the member thread was to be granted to any forumite who had 100 posts or more, not any forumite who has 100+ 'intelligent' posts which actually contribute to online discussion. Its not like mods go deleting every stupid post made on here...
While I do visit the forums relatively frequently, I dont feel it necessary to comment on everything I read. I only feel the need to post if I can add something new and interesting to the discussion. Often I cant, and so my post count remains low. However, I think the quality of what I post is relatively high. Being punished for that is, imo, ridiculous.
'INTER', define 'normal shit' for me. Do you honestly think me going into each players thread and saying, "He played well tonight", "Grande Ibra!" or "Sack Mancini" really adds anything to the discussion?
'Handoyo', tell me how to earn the posts. Whats the difference between what I did and the examples I posted above. After Ibra has a good game, for example, 20 people are on here saying how much they love him. Thats great, the man is an excellent player and we appreciate that, but how does that warrant them 'earning' access to the members forum? Another example is everyone who comes on here wishing 'player x' a happy birthday. The chances of then reading it are zero to none, what does it add to the forum?
Very few people even wondered into the Brazilians sinking piss thread, it didnt waste anyones time. I reiterate that those who did read it actually found it amusing, I believe that did actually add something to the forum. It was something different and it generated new discussion. Deleting it is unfair, but I think the fact that I actually asked the mods to let me know if this was breaking the rules and no one did is even worse. If I were half way through, and anyone had said, "stop it, its spamming and we're gonna delete them anyway" I would have stopped right there. I can honestly say I wasnt doing it to be a smart @rse or anything like that, I just thought it'd be the quickest, easiest and least disruptive way of getting my post count up in time for the game.
