Italy is not team of one player, like Germany with Ballack, England with Beckham and so on. Inter has enough players to cover most of our players.

We won World Cup as a team. De Rossi was suspended till final, Nesta played only two games, Materazzi missed game with Ukraine, all our strikers scored goals

Italu have nothing to worry, they will qualify to EURO 2008 as group winners :) :) :)

Speaking of new blood in Italian football, as a fan of youth football, I am also excited that Pierluigi Casiraghi and Gianfranco Zola will run the Azzurrini.

Azzurrini duo confirmed
Monday 24 July, 2006
The Italian Football Federation have confirmed that Pierluigi Casiraghi is the new Coach of the Italy Under-21 side.

Claudio Gentile was controversially axed from the Azzurrini role last week after a poor showing in May’s UEFA Under-21 Championship.

Gentile was furious at that decision after leading the side to victory in two of the last three tournaments but the FIGC have decided it is time for a change.

Previous Under-17 Coach Antonio Rocca will be Casiraghi’s assistant with Gianfranco Zola (pictured) - who doesn’t yet have a coaching certificate - acting as “technical consultant”.

Ex-Lazio and Juve striker Casiraghi only has a little more coaching experience than Zola. He managed Serie C2 side Legnano and was Monza’s youth Coach.

Despite his inexperience in a technical role, Zola maintains that he can be an asset to the Azzurrini.

“I’ll give everything I’ve got,” the Sardinian told Napoli’s Radio Kiss Kiss. “Gigi and I accepted this project with the greatest enthusiasm. We will use our international experience to help these lads.”

“This level has always been very competitive and is an important springboard for a better full team. I’m here to teach everything that I learnt during my playing career.”

The new coaching team will receive their first test in a friendly against Croatia in Grosetto on August 15.

Man you'r going too high, if England depends on Becks than I don't know noting about football, they are ten times better team without a Beckam and Italy will win WC for tweny years again, you will quallifie coz you'r atracttive not coz you better from the oponents in the group.

I saw England playing against my team Azerbaijan in Baku without Beckham ;) What I can say that the game was level. England scored only once, while Azerbaijan had couple of chanses to make it 1:1. Unfortunately game finished:
Azerbaijan 0:1 England :frustrat:

While Italy was playing adainst Azerbaijan without Totti they were little bit stronger than us. Unfortunately first my team scored an own goal :( and then in the second half Del Piero score from free kick ;) But my team showed good game, but Italian defence was very strong so we didn't have shoot on goal :(:
Azerbaijan 0-2 Italy
