but surely it should have a good OS straight out of the box? I would hardly call the iphone photos spectacular either, I can get a far better shot on my n97 than any of my friends can get on their iphones.
iphones are only now doing what other phones having been doing for years - video camera, multiple application support without jailbreaking etc.
Overclocking that is all fine, but if you then go and overclock one of the other phones mentioned you get a far better result again.
Fair enough if it's the only thing where you live, but here there are much better etc phones than Blackberrys, that give you what you need out of the box without needing to wait for updates/hybrids.
It's like me saying wow I can put windows 98 on my phone etc etc, but to make it a good phone I shouldn't need to. This is where Android is top by far.
You should get a great OS right out the box...but how many smartphones actually come with one? Android isn't all that. And I wasn't defending the iPhone 4 or saying it takes great pics. I was pointing out that the iPhone 4 technically has a lower resolution than those phone Vitomins mentioned yet still takes better quality pics. I hate iPhones.
And you are incorrect about overclocking. The Snapdragon in those HTC devices comes a bit overclocked out of the box. They can only hit 1.3Ghz as well. Same as my Omnia II.
I live in the US, so I have a huge market of phones available to me. I simply prefer customizable phones like Blackberrys and Windows Mobile phones to over-generic, everybody and their mama has one cuz their so simplistic Androids and iPhones. I'd rather be able to do whatever I want with my phone and modify it in anyway I want. And again, the Android OS sucks, but to each their own...
I'm just using empirical facts rather than conjecture. I don't need to lie about my phone being faster; it simply is. And same to you, Android fanboy. I'm sure noooooo phone in the world can match the Androids! Except for my overclocked Omnia II, a handful of other devices and my Blackberry And I'm not a BB fanboy. I actually like my Windows Mobile phone more. Having a registry editor gives you control of every aspect of the phone's OS.Haha...whatever you say man...saying any Blackberry is snappier than any Android is a complete lie, but whatever...I didn't think BlackBerry fanboys were as bad as the iPhone guys, but I guess I was wrong.
I have used all 3 of the major phones and I like things from each, but speed puts BlackBerry way behind the others. And I don't understand how people keep using the email defense for BlackBerry, I get all my emails on my Droid before they even hit my inbox on Gmail or Microsoft Outlook...
I've used Androids, iPhones, BBs, WM devices, Symbian devices and Linux based devices. Blackberrys may be behind in speed, but it doesn't have to be that way. As my phone is the example...When you understand more of how a processor works you'll understand why my BB with only a 600Mhz processor, when optimized, can be snappier than a Droid with a 900Mhz processor.
Considering you think that way, I wonder what'd you choose if I offered you a free desktop computer with either a 2.5Ghz Pentium 4 or a 1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo.
But again, to each their own. I'm quite happy with my phone, as I'm sure you are with yours. Just wanted to clear up the ignorance going on in here.
