First of all, I was just thinking of how we fans or football editors alike have voiced their opinions in the world of football today and, not wanting to be a smart@ss, I found that some of our and their opinions to have some fault, albeit a very small and insignificant, in it. :D Let's just explore them for the fun of it. :)

1) "When he's on form, he's unstoppable!"
We often hear such words to describe a striker. While it is true that while the Adrianos & Henry are on form, they are simply a joy to watch, what we often forget is the form of the defenders who are marking them. What if both Adriano & Samuel are on form then? ;) Samuel is unbreachable when he's on form too now, is he? ;) So it's definitely not totally true to say that when one is on form, he's either unstoppable or unbreachable.

2) The best player in the world
It seems that the most highly rated criteria to judge a player's ability is his plethora of tricks and showboats. But the truth is, just because Ronaldinho is much more watchable than Makelele, I don't think that this justify that the former is a much better player compared to the latter. In football, the most important thing is effectiveness and both players I mentioned are quite good in it. Hence, I don't think because Ronaldinho can produce a lot of skills most other player can't, he is the best player in the world. Just a personal opinion, if not for his age, I would prefer to have a Makelele than a Ronaldinho in my squad.:p

Now that I've voiced my opinion, it'd be great if you guys can do the same with yours. :D

Barcelona plays for Ronaldinho and Inter would not do that, Ronaldinho only pulls his finger out when there is no other choice but he does it. To me Ronaldinho is great but I doubt he would fit in our Inter!

I agree that distiguish a player from another is not realistic if they play in different positions. But then again an inform striker still requires some service to be able to be a threat and an inform defender needs the midfield to allow for some cover other wise there would be little balance.

Football is a complicted game and it challenges logic which is what makes it the world game.

I would rather have Cambiasso or a young Veron over Dinho.

I understand what your trying to say, but when you say that a player is nearly unstoppable on top form - the fact that he still isn't flawless should go without saying. Many times, your describtions aren't meant to be literall. We've all been taught that no one in this world is perfect. So, in our case - perhaps a certain player, who has massive amounts of talent, has the ability to hide some imperfections when at their very best. Take it or leave it, but that's the way I look at it.
