Lets start with defense, Panucci was the sub of Tassoti whilst playing for milan. While desailly was good, he played DM in serie a. I'd still say as good as Desailly and Bergomi are, IMO aside from maldini and cannavaro, Thuram and Nesta are best CBs.

With that being said, the difference is in the midfield.. While all these midfielders are hardowrking, who would get the ball to the final 3rd? Veron and Deschamp are what all those 3 would be if they had football talent. Gattuso doesn't deserve to be in any best 11 line up

The final 3rd IMO both teams have world class talent. I think many people on fif forget about Recoba and his left foot. In his debut and Ronaldos debut, he scored 2 projectiles vs verona. For me, he is a bigger what if than Adriano. On the other hand if R9 is a bigger what if, then Van Basten is x2 R9. Dude retired at 29, with 3 ballon d'ors. Criminally underrated.

The combination of Basten with zola behind him, with nedved (a fast hardworking winger with actual brain) and recoba's left foot makes my attack even better than the 3 crackheads Devious has.
