Good result. I am happy with this result as well. Bolton can't be underestimated. And english Premiere League starts very soon, so they might alrady have started their pre-season sometime back.

It's definitely not a bad result. I didn't see the match but from the reports that I read, written by two of the best writers (Eddy Lio and Andy Simpson), it was a convincing performance. But most importantly, it was a victory. Bolton shouldn't be taken lightly. Last season, they gave the big guns a lot of trouble.

One thing that I don't like is the number of substitution in this game. It's obvious that most of the players haven't reached the match fitness level. Considering that this is the second last game before the crunch qualifier against Basel, it is certainly not good.

Against Palermo and Juventus in Birra Moretti, we need to start fielding our starting XI for next season and minise the number of substitution. We cannot afford to face Basel with a squad that has never played with each other. Adaptation is required. Unfortunately, we don't have the time.

With Adriano coming in and scoring, I think he could well be playing with Chino against Basel.

Thinking about Ventola, do you think that any of the players on their way out might ask not to be used against Basel, so they could play in the CL if they move to a club who's in it? I don't think it would be the case of Ventola, unless he goes abroad somewhere...

Let's hope Chino-Adi pair is our future. :star: Absolutely these guys for CL match.. Damn, we have great players..

Not sure about present, but Oba is already great and he will be one of the best. This duo has worked. In this appartment we have only one worrie. That's which forwards we'll have next season so that Oba gets play and continues developing..

And you know what irritates me more is that he is trying to do stuff now like 20-30m passes which is so funny. A good back up but certainly not a starter and no way he will be my hammer.

When he got injured Inter midfield wasn't half as strong. He made his comeback in the derby and showed everyone what a great player he is.

VDM's style of play may suit other leagues but at the mean time he is still a failure and no reason wasting time on him and building plans really. (What kills me everytime i think of him is that Moratti favored him over Jouaqin)

-Inter's midfield wasnt as strong because the ones playing were not even regular players and they had to cope with many things and that's why i consider them heroes for showing committment. I mean people like Karag, Farinos, etc. were not even regulars and comparing them with Cristiano is a big mistake because these players hardly played in the past 2 seasons.
What you are saying about him working without you noticing is the same old excuses people used to say about Nicky Butt and other average players. And btw, this derby match was one of the worst matches i've seen for Cristiano and if you will tell me he was away for months then you better watch how Matrix ruled the game against Juve after missing for more months.

Cristiano should stay as a sub and accept the fact he cant break into the team. It will hurt to see him in the starting 11.

I think Butt is a very good player as well, he'll do great with the Toons next year, you'll see.

I don't judge Deco as a player cause I never watch Porto, but at Euro 2004 he was a disgrace.

The only thing Cristiano will hurt is his opponents

Yeah Butt will do well with the toons and i wish him the best of luck. they need someone like him and people will notice the difference simply because Speed was just a ghost in the middle of the park. Butt was a good servant to utd but certainly not top quality. It is enough that a player like Phil Nevile ruled him out and always performed better than him.

Anyway i think we agree on some stuff though and i am sure more issues will come along which we will both agree on.

1- Cannavaro is great and he will prove it if he played regularly this season or as a super alternative for Cordoba or Burdisso .

Whether you like it or not but Nesta - Cannavaro were the best italian defence all over , and even maldini stated this so Cannavaro seems to care more about surface stuff but he's still Gold and we can't actually make him go to Juve and i like his style esepcially in tackling as well as Cafe so it has nothing to do with you .

2- How can you rate a player who barley touched the ball last season in italy and then you want him to perform well and Super against teams like Czech and Germany ??? To play good in Euro 2004 , you should play consistently in the league you play with . and although all of this he was the one who delievered the cross to Ruud to score one of the spectacular goals of euro 2004 ....just look at the way he touches the ball then judge , or i tell u something : have u seen him under Cuper on the first matches of the season??? have u seen him at highbury and the goal he scored ????? have you seen Reggina match under Zac and the way VDM played ???!!! He's Great and young so he is the future of holland and Even Advocaat , Cruyff have said that Man the guy can play on the right or on the left!!! , he's got great control over the ball......so you will see this guy next season then we all will judge rather than regretting like every season when we leave a star like Carlos , Pirlo etc...... let us learn !!!!

So we agree that he can be an alternative for Cafe and Matrix. If so then we are both on the right track.

-Ok i may sound harsh on the guy, but this is my opinion. Many people on this forum always accuse wonder boys that they may turn out to be one season wonders, but then they hate to imply this on our own Inter players.! Why wouldnt we consider VDM a one season wonder..? Good games with Ajax and with us and that is it.

-Karagounis, Dellas and Baros were not consistent with their clubs at all and played a major role with their national teams. Dellas ended with the best defender and Baros as a top scorer. Even Diego Forlan one of the few strikers who can always miss an open goal plays very well for Uruguay.!So please dont tell me you need to play all the time in the league. The whole Italian team u were cheering for underperformed and most of the players played the whole of last season; all the matches.

-What touches are you talking about..? The guy did not produce a single decent pass throughout the whole tournament and looked like a headless chicken. Agaisnt Germany, Lahm the kid outplayed him and the ball he crossed to Ruud was just a fluke and not even the biggest Dutch fan would have thought it would end up in the back of the net.

-Yeah he did have good matches under Cuper but so did Cruz and look where did they both end. The goal he scored against Arsenal was class but we both know that a decent goalie would have picked the ball with ease.

-Advocaat and Cruyff..!! Please this is too much.. Advocaat is by far one of the worst coaches i've ever seen. Isnt he the same guy who put Makaay on the right and the same guy who took off Robben against Germany,etc.. i can go on and on. Even you used to curse him on the other forum and your post was edited

-Cruyff was amazing with the ball and i used to LOVVVE the guy and he made me love the no.14 more than anything but lately all his talk is about Barca, and how great Barca should be, etc... His love for Barca now is just too much and this guy alongside Pele should really stop giving comments and suggestions because they look funny. I remember Cruyff telling Barca, you shouldnt try to sign RVN, well yeah i am sure he is banging his head in the wall now.

I used to love Cristiano but in the past 2 seaons he performed in a silly way and even when he is not injured, he is not fast and his tackles are not as good as before and as i mentioned the 30m passes he tries to do looks pathetic.

-You are right about consistency. I wanted to see Cristiano starting the coming season but after all these players came in, then we cant use the word consistency now, could we ? If you have to chose between the hammer or between Davids, whom will you pick.? You just said it yourself, he can be the "Back-up" for Davids. So if me and you are both considering him as a back-up then i cant see the problem, eh.??
