We wanted to sell him for big money. Man U low balled us. He turned to shit went on loan. We tired to sell him again for half the price. Then he did great because we had to play him and he wanted to renew his contract

…… maybe in forgetting something because he was a cunt…..
Marotta tried to sell him to Arsenal in the first transfer window to "ease the locker room tension".

Arsenal only offered a 5+40m loan with option deal that we didn't trust.
He stayed.
Then Marotta hired Conte who told Perisic he'd be backup Striker at best. Perisic reacted poorly to that and wanted out.
We loaned him to Bayern with a low option that they didn't take.
Then Perisic played backup ST for a while. Till he was slotted as main WBL. And he became very good there.

He was better than Dima by miles. Most complete player i ever seen. He was good dribbler, crosser and header. I miss him.
I don't think he knows what his strong foot is. Scored penalties with either foot for us.

I disagree here. Meanwhile they have different attributes, but Dimarco wasn't entering his peak while Perisic as here, but if I'd have to choose both at their peak, I'd definitely go with Dimarco, in which he's not even at his peak yet, as he's getting better in each season.

To me Perisic was never a good dribbler. He was just very explosive, which gave him an advantage to beat his opponents. He had great acceleration but other than that, he was very predictable with his movements. But he was indeed a great crosser and he could score goals too. I still prefer Dimarco's elegance with the ball and also his vision of the game.

Dimarco is a bit overrated i think, sure he has vision and pass but most importantly he's extremely inconsistent rarely deliver and a bad defender in other hand Perisic good at defending. Dimarco most of the time just do nothing, losing ball or pass backward. For set pieces sure Dimarco is the winner.

The fact that Augusto also is comfortable as LCB helps out a lot. Limone seasons prior would sometimes play Dimarco as LCB and we conceded goals due to his size, Augusto is not per se much bigger but the fucker wins so many aerial duels.

One of the best transfers.

Overrated how? The guy has been literally crucial to every success we have achieved over the past couple of years. IMHO calling him inconsistent is very unfair. He's got his flaws, but who doesn't?

He's playing in a very difficult role which requires insane stamina. And when you consider how impressive Inter has been recently, and how dominant our left flank has been, then I'd say it's a shame putting him into a "inconsistent" sentence. Even if we'd have money to spend on any player out there, I honestly don't think we would be able to find someone as good as him, that would fit perfectly in our scheme.

Keep in mind, Inter is playing a game of high intensity and Dimarco is basically an engine that keeps it going smoothly with his creativity and tenacity. Sometimes I think, if we'd lose him to any another team we'd realize how decisive he was to this competitive Inter.

I was saying that Perisic was more complete player than Dimarco, the guy was absolutely amazing in defense and attack. What Dimarco has compared to Perisic? Sure his vision of long pass is out of this world but that's it, that's all he has, his set pieces also average this season. And he was always getting outrunned and outmuscled by opponent's wingers. Dimarco is good player but I don't understand why people rated him world-class or the best wing back 😹

Exactly. Augusto being able to stunt both positions helps Inzaghi tremendously with the rotation. Because having multiple options for each position gives the coach the possibility to pick player better suited for just that match / situation he has at his hands. Plus also all the minor knocks / energy level situations, it's easier for the coach with more options than the set in stone ones where you have one guy on the bench for that one position on the pitch.

This also why Darmian is such a valuable player for this team. Being able to handle at least 3 roles and even 4 if absolutely necessary (LCB) is massive plus for the coach.

Getting Pavard and Carlos Augusto this summer was important for how we play. Bisseck being actually good is just an added bonus. We have so much versatility in the back that bottom/dom forums are taking notice of our team.

gds thinks he will probably return after the break on 1st of April vs Empoli, as they don't wanna risk him playing vs Napoli.

His, untimely injury may have been fatal in Inter's eventual defeat today.
His injury fucked our entire substitution pattern. Inzaghi had to swap out his wingbacks, but only had Darmian available. We conceded as soon as Inzaghi made the ridiculous Pavard to RWB shift with Darmian on the left.

Genuinely would have rather seen Buchanan in extra time to try and do something, knowing we're a horrible penalty taking team.

Yeah I think his absence is really crucial, you can see Dimarco couldn’t put big effort anymore after 60’, he was so tired and most of time covered the left alone with no support from Bastoni as usual. Atletico did good work on that.

Inzaghi looked like bringing Buchanan on in extra time, don’t know why he changed his mind.

I think Darmian is better to start this match, then Dumfries as sub to push more physical play late in game. On left side, either switching Darmian there for more defensive because you could see Simeone attacking more on that side from second half or Buchanan depending on situation.

Inter Milan have signed wingback Carlos Augusto on a permanent basis after officially qualifying for the Champions League
The Brazilian in fact only arrived on an initial one-season loan deal. But the non-mandatory purchase option becomes an obligation under certain conditions based on Inter’s balance sheet.

Namely, the Nerazzurri must sign Augusto on a permanent basis in the event of qualification for any of Europe’s club knockout competitions.

These include the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League.
Calcio e Finanza confirms the official figures:
The Nerazzurri signed Augusto for an initial loan fee of €4.5 million.

Then, there was also a purchase option in the deal. This was worth €7.5 million.
12M in total spread out in installments. Very good deal within Serie A.
