I don't think we have vice anything, except for Hakan which isn't a bad approach given our limited resources, that most of the bench players have different characteristics than the starters, so when needed we can change our approach in games. Issue is when the starters ain't doing well, and we need the same approach it is difficult.

You are right, possibly only Acerbi-De Vrij have very similar characteristics.

Precisely. How are you going to find like-for-like sub for Mkhitaryan with our budget? I think Zielinski is pretty great addition given the cards we've been dealt.

Zielinski's wages are ~€6.48M gross/~€3.5M net this season. Football-italia (I know) claims his offer is ~€4.5M net, so that is a step up. The three years for someone who's going to be 30 next season I'm sure also helps.

ADL tends to say a lot of ridiculous things. I seriously doubt Zielinski's current salary at Napoli is way higher than the one offered by us.

Here`s the full statement
“Piotr is a lovely guy and a very good player. He has been at Napoli for eight years and I think such long affairs tend to come to a natural close,” De Laurentiis told reporters.

“If he wants to stay with us, we are here with open arms, but if he wants to leave because he has an agent who can smell money, who has imagined dipping a nice biscuit in a latte… He will have convinced the lad, his wife and family to leave Napoli. I can say one thing: Zielinski is getting a higher salary from me than he would get at Inter.”

The Napoli President also aimed a sideswipe at Inter CEO Marotta about the Zielinski situation.

I think he meant that his contract renewal offer was higher wage (but probably not as high agent commission & signing-on bonus).

Anyway this transfer has been sealed like a month ago. I`m 100% Piotr will become Inter player this summer.

Some De Maggio journalist close to Napoli says that Zielinski and his wife would like to stay at Napoli but ADL isn't offering long enough contract and the signing bonus isn't good enough. But that the race is still not over.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Napoli is probably much nicer place to live throughout the year than Milano if you are accustomed to it already (so not fancy fashion/luxury and dat shit but more about the sun and warmer weather). Let's see how it plays out.
