We wanted him gone as much (probably moreso) as he wanted to leave. This is not a case of him forcing his way out. He was complete garbage last season, and was getting paid like he was in treble form. We're not winning shit next year, no reason to keep him around sucking up wages and giving up goals. And while Silvestre is far from world class, he was still much better than Lucio last year.

I get that he joins a rival. Plenty of players I've liked have played for a rival team elsewhere. Yes I won't like him anymore but I'm not wishing injury or death on the person just because the player makes a decision to join there. Some of these posts seem too harsh.
