The more I watch Juve & Milan, especially the latter, the more I appreciate this guy. Milan have been trying to balance their squad by signing rubbish player like Yepes, Favalli, Oguchi Onyewu, Huntelaar, etc etc despite selling their biggest star Kaka to Real Madrid.

Now take a look at our starting line up against Barcelona.

Julio Cesar - Bought for a relatively low fee
Maicon - Also low fee
Lucio - Freaking 5m Euros only
Samuel - Yes, he was costly
J.Zanetti - No need for words
Cambiasso - FREE
T.Motta - Another costly one
Sneijder - 15m Euros but worth 150m Euros
Eto'o - FREE (I don't buy the he's-rated-20m BS)
Pandev - FREE
D.Milito - Yes, another costly one

So from 11 players, only Samuel, T.Motta, Sneijder & D.Milito cost us some money, but they were all below 20m Euros IIRC. The rest were signed for peanuts and we also managed to sell our star player while maintaining the same quality to the squad.

When Milan is taking the half-assed way out to balance their chequebooks by signing has-beens or failures; Marco Branca have been working his ass off trying to make sure our numbers stay in the green and our team stays at the top.

Thank you for your great work, Marco Branca. :star:

We have to separate the costly buys, from cheap buys, not by the amount of money, but amount of the cash saved.

For example Messi's worth is around 100 mln. If we bought him for 75, it wouldn't be a costly aquisition, because everybody knows his worth is more than that.

Samuel was paid a lot, but not as much as Real Madrid paid for him, or not as much as Walter was worth.

Sneijder was bought by Madrid for 25 mln, while we bough him for 15. Another great piece of buisness.

Milito and Motta were paid not only with cash, but also with players, like Aquafresca (who turned worse in last year, not better), Bolzoni (didn't hear of him yet), Meggiorini (same thing, nothing special thus far), and Bonucci (the only one who have risen). Overall we did another good buisness here.

And lets not forget Quaresma, who was valued with 30 mln, and 30 mln only, by the club who got what they wanted for past 5 years, and we bough Quaresma (in the end), for 18 mln.

Thank you for your great work, Marco Branca. :star:
The best prove of his amazing work, is juBe and milan fans who say: "If only we had Branca..."

Huntelaar is NOT rubbish...

but yeah, Branca's been doing a hell of a job. Of course, nothing's perfect, but still, a hell of a job. I still think he did good at the Quaresma signing, I just blame Mourinho here. hmpf

yeah he has done well recently. can anyone remember when he started working for us? as we always signed a lot of good players in the 1990s and early 2000s, but had a terrible problem of selling players for a low amount - just before they became amazing elsewhere: roberto carlos, frey, pirlo, seedorf, pandev, mutu, bergkamp, crespo (after only one season) etc.

I wouldn't trust anyone who took part in this summer's disaster called a transfer market...
