Panathinaikos-Roma was amazing!!! Never been so excited after leaving a football stadium! Anyone who watched the whole game would say that the PAO win was deserved, as Roma was not dangerous, they only had a great Vucinic goal and a shot hitting the bar with Riise. Apart from that, it was all crossing that our goalkeeper and defence cleared and some fancy tricks that led to nothing.

On the other hand, Panathinaikos had 2-3 chances in the first minutes of the game, I still haven't seen anything from tv, but sitting somewhere behind the goal near the corner, I haven't realised how that first shot did not go in. And have to admit that I jumped and screamed 'goaaal' at Cisse's header late in the first half, as well as half the stadium. Can't believe that it didn't went in!

3-2 is a victory indeed, but it's not a great score in two-legged games. 1-0 or 2-1 is the least Roma needs to go through, but I'm confident that Panathinaikos will get a 0-0 or a 1-1 draw in Rome.

Anyone has to comment on any of PAO players? I'm interested to see your opinions on some of them if you watched the game.
Also, I just have to say that our defence is attrocious, but sometimes is extremely lucky. And Sarriegi was efficient in the latest part of the game with solid clearances. He often makes mistakes and is a known "own-goal scorer" :p

"The Great AS Roma shipping 3 Great Greek Goals in 3 minutes" LMAO 1-3 @ HT Roma needs 4 goals to progress :D

But on a serious note, this is bad..they will totally go all attack for the scudetto now!

This is bad for Italian football now. I just hope Fio kicks Bayern's ass in the second leg.

PS - that is far fetched scenario.

Never know. They don't even need to kick their ass, 1-0 will do just fine!

Fiorentina-win would be a total success for Italian football against Germans (racing for 4. CL-spot...)

i am angry for Roma and also juve not winning their matches.

Roma threw away their lead in both games with 5 minutes of madness but Panathinaikos deserved their wins, that youngster Ninis was impressive. Yesterday he won a penalty, scored a brilliant goal and set up Cissè for the 3rd with a majestic through pass. He can become a great player in my opinion.

Over 10.000 Greek fans travelled to Stadio Olimpico last Thursday.
I will post some videos from Rome (they're not mine):

PAO fans making a spectacle of themselves in Piazza de Spagna

A video of both sets of fans during the first half:

Panathinaikos fans sining their anthem:

Ole-Ole after the game

And here are the Greeks celebrating just after the final whistle of the game, at the basketball stadium where a European match was taking place right after the football match!!!

Expect a good crowd in Belgium as well

- HSV won Anderlecht pretty easily, 3-1. They've almost secured the qualification.

- Wolfsburg also got a draw away against Rubin, which is a very good result also. Wolfsburg have a clear advantage now at home.

- Werder Bremen got a ridiculous penalty, and are now leading Valencia away, so they got a cheap away goal.

- Juventus leads 2-0 so at least they're gonna grab a victory too.

Looking good so far for German teams. :rollani:

Yuko, what happened to Pana??? Terrible result for a home leg. Was Standard that good?

Juve up 3-1 at the half and Liverpool lost yet again to Lille, the 6th place team from France!

Think are looking are really really good for German teams. Now only for Jube to loose and it will be so sweet. Italy doesnt deserve 4 spots next year, and I really hope the Germans miraculously manage to take it away from them. In all fairness they should have had it 2 years ago, their league is by far superior and deseves more team in teh CL. Would make the competition more intresting, rather than seeing Italian teams get humiliated which is getting really old.

Fulham have managed an away goal, now just to mnage another one. I think if Fulham manage to lose only by 1 goal today, they will be in the driving seat.
They can easily crush Juventus at Craven Cottage.

shahz_nerazzurri, try to understand, Italians will have four spots for next years' CL season.

http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method4/crank2009.html

This is the country ranking which will be used in next year's club allocation. Not UEFA Country ranking 2010, but 2009.

Maybe only way to make you understand this is that Germany indeed beat Italy in this years ranking to see that it has no effect for next season's club allocation.
