I was expecting that we would get rid of him, since he was nowhere near the team since he came to Inter.. hell, I thought his status was like Coco's..

He was very good w/ Lazio.
Personal relationships do not concern me but perhaps you neglected to remember how much he sucked for us when he first came to Inter. He was horrendous and dont even think about trying to tell me otherwise. Look up our away game to Ajax in the 05/06 season and dont even get me started on his "partnership" w/ Wome on our left flank against Villarreal. He wasnt much better in the league starts he got in that season either. Ever wonder why Mancini got rid of him in the first place??
This does not detract from his performance last night which for me was more than acceptable considering his past.
Cesar was brought to us because Mancini personally liked to train and play his formers players from Lazio. That's how Favalli, Mihajlovic, Stankovic and Cesar arrived in our squad, so you can't talk about Mancini getting rid of Cesar.

Favalli - We were in desperate need for an LB. Mancio knew him, he was cheap and a back up Italian international at that point.
Miha - Brought in to help bring some order to our dressing room as well as a player coach. He was a bit part player no more.
Stan - He was here before Mancio got here.
Cesar - Mancio thought he would solve our problem on the left flank.
Aside from Stan all there players were Mancio's special request to help fill some holes in the side. I have nothing against a coach bringing in players he is familiar w/ as long as they can perform.

More likely the case that Mancini was so obsessed by all the media attention he got by leaving out adriano for solari he totally forgot about his boyfriend cesar.

He also did it with cesar several times when he first joined even though he had zero fitness and solari was in much better shape.
