Poor finishing tonight, but he was more unlucky rather than incompetent, except of that chance he outplayed goalkeeper.

Not his usual display but at least he was involved a lot. And as long as he keeps getting into chances, it's good.

Don't have one.
He deserves every bit of criticism tonight, just like he deserved praise in recent times. His finishing one on one is shit, I just refuse to believe a dude that has his technique cant do better in those situations. Everything still boils down to instinct, which shouldn't be the case when you are alone in front of keeper.

Ffs dude, practice those, they fuckin made memes out of you in world cup exactly because of that...

You need to be ice cold in these 1vs1 chances or penalties. I mean, there was players with poor technique but they were clinical af, because they were calm in front of goal and never crumbled under pressure.

Lautaro has been quite composed while getting into chances this season. Many of the goals he scored were deadly, but tonight indeed he was frustrating with all these chances. Not too worried about it tbh. If the same episodes happen over and over, then it's gonna be worrying but as for now, he is absolutely fantastic. Of course he will miss chances, everyone does, but like I said, as long as it doesn't become a habbit, then it's totally fine IMO.

Can’t believe you guys actually are blaming him for not scoring tonight 😂 dude's given up all positive karma against Salernitana, you cannot be as unlucky as he was. The only situation you can discuss is the one on one after Otamendis mistake, but every other shot was perfectly taken.

In fact I‘d challenge every Serie a striker to hit the first ball (post upright) like he did in the same situation. It was borderline world class.

I don't think Lautaro made a mess of (most) his chances to be fair.
He's just not the type to place the ball in the corner. He tends to strike it with pace into general direction of the goal, which sometimes the keepers can reach and sometimes they can't. Today he's unlucky that two hit the post, one saved by the defender, and the others were good save from Trubin.

He reminds me a lot of Cavani. A fighter, score goals, never giving up, always first to press but some poor finishing sometimes.

We have a new definition of "perfect" there. Congrats

Nights like these are why he"ll never be one of the greats. He's definitely got the Higuain/Lukaku syndrome.

I thought he did alright, when he got ball Benefica swarmed around him especially in the first half. Still he was involved throughout the match just unlucky and of course Turbin had something to do with it as well.

He missed a bunch but showed great technique which he usually lacks.

Worth mentioning Trubin and Otamendi did absolutely great in all Lautaro’s chances.

Awful game. Hopefully won't disappear for months now
are u fucking kidding me? he was giving his all, fighting and pressing for every ball like a badass motherfucker until the end. he showed up in great scoring positions but was unlucky today. also his shooting skill when he hit the crossbar was superb. monster of a player, true leader and very good performance today

Honestly I didn’t think his finishing was poor tonight. The cross bar finish was actually class, just unlucky. The other post he hit is basically the same goal he scored on Maignan there in the semi-final last year. Sometimes they go in an sometimes they don’t. The one where he rounded the goalkeeper is the only one I’d say he could do better on.

I don’t want him to do a damn thing different next match. He’ll score plenty this season if he plays exactly how he did today.

The one that was assisted by Mkhitaryan and Trubin saved… That’s pure Trubin’s long leg, not every goalkeeper would save that.

I don't mind if Scaloni watched this match and decided to drop him. Please Mr. Scaloni.

I was about to post the same thing. The only one I felt he should have done better on was after rounding the keeper. The shot on Mkhi's cutback was fairly good actually - Trubin saved it with the top of his foot and this is a guy who's 2 metres tall.

These are the margins in football. Against Salernitana, he pretty much scored the exact same goal that Trubin saved today. The shot that hit the post was close. Against Salernitana, his first goal could also have hit the post - just how it works in football.

In the past, I felt a lot of Lautaro's misses were lack of composure and him smashing at the ball. I don't think today applies. The first shot that hit the crossbar was great technique and difficult to pull off. The left footed shot was a question of centimetres, and the side foot finish I would give more credit to Trubin - like I mentioned, Lautaro pretty much scored this exact goal against Ochoa a few days ago.

This is an exaggeration. His finishing wasn’t great today but they weren’t bad efforts either. Sometimes you don’t get the rub of the green. The only one that really bothered me was his last attempt on the Mkhi cutback. That was way too central of a hit.
