That's the asking price. Maybe not the market price eventually? Balogun has told Arsenal he wants to play or wants a permanent transfer elsewhere (no loan). That might benefit the buyer.

I see a lot if “Mediocre” and “Underwhelming” comments form people by watching youtube videos. I said before its better to look at advanced stats and underlying numbers of Balogun before judging him. His stats are better than both Osimhen and Leao who came from Ligue 1 as well. You’d think Ruben Botta would’ve taught this forum that youtube highlights don’t mean shit.

This is the only youtube video you should watch on Florian Balogun:

apparently we're also in for Morata. Lovely. Giving the guy who picked Correa a say in what forward we want next, imagine that.

What a disaster this mercato could turn out to be.

Yann Bisseck 2, Yann Sommer 6, Anatoliy Trubin 16, Davide Frattesi 6, Acerbi 4 = 34
Onana 50, Brozovic 18 = 68

So for forward we have +- 34m

In a very fanstastic theory if we sacrifice Fabbian we could get Rasmus Højlund using the money from the sale of Correa and make Sebastiano Esposito the fourth forward, that would be cool.

Fabbian+15m from Correa+30m for Rasmus Højlund

Martinez Højlund
Esposito Thuram

Its not how things work.

If we would have bought Lukaka for 35M + 10M gross salary for 4 years, his cost was 18.75M per year (salary+trasnfer/contract peroid). If we get Balogun for 40M and 5M gross for 5 years, his cost will be 13M. The more years the players signs, the less he will cost. This is why Chelsea signed players for 8-10 years and this is why Uefa stopped them.

So for each player, we need to calculate the annual cost, not transfer amount. Frattesi costs a little bit less than Brozo.

I know, I know. But to get a player you have to have money now, we don't have 40 million for Balogun, we don't have the cash.

Clubs don't generally care about the cashflow and payments schedule, often the most important thing is the accounting impact. Revolving credit facilities ftw. It's a little less true in a 5% world rather than 0.5% world but it's still applicable

Why wouldn't Marotta have a say?

What?

Most clubs are all about the cash flow.
You don't care about cash flow if you're Real Madrid or Barcelona. Everyone else prioritizes that.

The accounting impact is something that affects only a handful of teams that operate with 9 digit figures. Or if they're listed on exchanges, but these are usually the same entities, hardly anyone out there that's not part of the first parameter.

No one else cares about the accounting as much. It's there just to show something and pass the financial tests of FAs and UEFA, but that's about it.

Actually Balogun total annual cost would be 13m with 5m gross salary not 16m.

well what did you expect? arsenal gave around 200 ml for transfers, so they will try to squeeze as much as they can from us from the Lukaku from Aliexpress known also as Balogun. And we do not have any other realistic option so we will pay as much as they want for the one season wonder Balogun. I hope the "fans" who didnt want lukaku here, are happy

We have plenty of options. Varies in price, salary, experience etc

Balogun and Lukaku have much different characteristics.

Point is on the collective to offload and replace Correa as well otherwise you're still stuck unless he unsticks his head from his ass and plays to his actual level.

Let's see what signing we actually make and then we can judge how they are Vs Lukaku

On the one hand I'm hopeful this makes us look towards a younger name with a long term future for us, on the other hand I'm really worried we end up signing some shit and it's one of our biggest flops since João Mario.

Which inevitably means we buy Morata, a man who has 50/50 chance of even scoring more than 10 league goals in a season, and he's still a flop

Actually Pedulla said Høijlund is Peiro's first choice. ManU will go full attack in 3 days after securing Onana.

Morata makes sense only because that's the profile that Lukaku was filling.

A player in his late 20s/early 30s with experience in top football and some big teams and games under his belt.
Other than that, Lukaku didn't make sense either.
