So first Laporte signs all these players, then he puts public pressure to these players to lower their salaries. Public will turn against these players as they want new players to be registered because they are already there and signing new players is the must thing to do for everyone (I've noticed same tendency in this forum too).
What a total shit housery and despicable club.
Then FCBarca comes next to explain that the contracts were signed during Bartomeu reign and Laporte has no responsibility over those.
Not wrong. Laporta's responsibility is to course correct the club, financially & sporting wise. If it means asking players to take wage cuts and binning others, so be it.
Getting foreign players to agree to wage reductions is one thing but your own La Masia players? They will have to do so as they know no one is bigger than the club. Players aren't obliged to do so but there will be public/fan fallout if they do not
You can also easily make the argument that it takes some cheek from the cantera players to agree to such wages at the club under Bartomeu, knowing it was never going to be sustainable
