Moratti needs to come forward, at least with a statement.
He will not say shit. Any time he talks about Suning he has nothing but compliments and usually talks about how Suning are "serious owners". He is many years removed from the club and alot of his comments are just media soundbytes. Personally, I feel Moratti's is out of step with the club and reality.
One thing that really bothers me about the proposed sales is that no steps have been taken by the club to short circuit the cycle or pattern of selling valuable players. Part of the problem is that the club spends alot of money on experienced old heads, pays them a substantial amount and then has difficulties moving them on. I am thinking of: Vidal, Dzeko, Sanchez, Vecino and Kolorov. And that is without referring to the failed transfers like Dalbert, Mario or Lazaro who remain on our books until the expiration of their contracts.
There is no strategy by the club to change this. The club needs to make a real effort to try and promote players from the Primavera or those who are out on loan to fill the gaps. Is it really the case that we could not find a young player to occupy the roles of Kolorov and Vecino in the squad? Wouldn't it be more valuable to allow a young player to occupy and learn in those roles than players we never see?
Replacements for the likes of Sanchez and Vidal are a bit different because those players had a little more playing time. But the same still applies. And just so we are clear, I am not saying that the club should solely rely on youth team players to fill the squad. But right now, we are too much at the other extreme and the pattern is set to repeat itself because we keep doing the same stupid shit over and over again (reference to selling top players).
If you would like an example of the lay of the land, look at our subs bench for the last game against Sampdoria: Darmian, Caicedo, Sanchez, Ranocchia, Gosens, Vecino, Radu, Cordaz, Dzeko, Dimarco, Vidal and D'Ambrosio.
With the exception of Darmian, Gosens, Dimarco and D'Ambrosio, what can any of these players possibly add to our performance on the pitch? There was not a single young player on the bench. Just a bunch of old Cunts that were predominantly past it and had little to offer. Surely, there is another way and the club can do better than this.
In relation to Bastoni and Skriniar, all I have to say is that it is very sad that the owners are thinking about selling club icons and solid performers. Bastoni is a world beater, mature beyond his years. He will become a mainstay of the Italian National team. And Skriniar, is our Captain in waiting. Allowing that calibre of player to leave without as much as a second though really bothers me because they are nothing like Lukaku or Hakimi in terms of the way they identify with the club.
The honest truth of the matter is that when I read about the likes of Bastoni or Skriniar being sold I feel like I am being punched in the stomach and cannot get up.
