I never really played much football but I've always felt CB was the least talent focused and most experienced/cool head position on the pitch. Bastoni and his performances right now are top notch - it's really hard especially in this day and age for a CB to go in to a top ish level side and look like a part of the team

This guy is the real deal, but I think we already knew that.

Will be missed in the derby

Happy that Conte gave him the chance to prove himself. He's the real deal.

I love Bastoni but he too has some serious brainfarts from time to time, only normal for a 20 year old guy (!), but still.... He's not exactly a "guarantee" in defense either.

What is guaranteed though, is that this kid is the real deal.

This kid is a straight stud. Good on the ball, relatively physical, decent passer. Just really impressive

Alessandro "the Real Deal" Bastoni. "Il Vero Affare"
After I saw thedude's post, I tried to come up with a synonym but nothing could fit better than The Real Deal™.

Would honestly prefer him to miss the derby and be there for Lazio and Juve.

Alessandro Bastoni: “In 10 Years Time Maybe I’ll Be The Inter Captain”

Young Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has revealed that he was worried about being able to make the step up at Inter when Inter manager Antonio Conte wanted him involved with the first team during pre-season.

“Conte called me before I went to the training camp. He kept me on the phone for 15 minutes, he said” what are you worried about? If you are at Inter there is a reason, you will soon find out. You are here because I wanted you.” I was scared, I was afraid of not being up to the big jump,” he began an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

He then went on to speak about his debut which came against Sampdoria at the end of September.

“During the week I had some feelings but Conte said nothing to me, that is one of his strengths. He treated me like someone who had been playing for Inter for 15 years.”

Next he was asked if he thinks the 2019/20 football season will resume at all given the current Coronavirus pandemic situation.

“I would like to, it is my and the team’s hope to take the field as soon as possible but the priority now is everyone’s health.”

He was then quick to play down the idea of playing for Italy at next Summer’s European Championship’s with him instead focused on achieving success with Inter first.

“No, I keep the goals for Inter. I want to win here. If we go back to playing, we are still in the running on several fronts to do it already this season.”

Next he discussed his move to Inter in the Summer of 2017 from fellow Serie A side Atalanta.

“My agent, Tinti, summoned me to the Autogrill in Parma. I got out of the car and we started talking and he said “you want to go to Int…”, I didn’t even let him finish and said “yes yes, let’s go.” I only learned of the €31 million paid later on.”

In conclusion he shared where he hopes to see himself in the next 10 years.

“At Inter, having won some trophies and maybe captain.”

This season he has made 17 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored a single goal.

He has all the character traits and talent to become a world class player, mentally he also seems very stable. When was the last time the first captain of Inter was an Italian? Maybe Bergomi?
