It will be decided on fair play, so who has lesser cards.
Ah, yeah. So England have a slight advantage, with 1 less yellow card. And if they draw and also end up with the same amount of cards, then there will literally be a lottery. I think that would be the first time that's ever needed during a WC

Nice for those who want to bet on 'more than ... cards' ;)

The thing is that it may be better for the team to finish second. With Germany looking to finish second in the group then whoever comes second in group G goes up against most likely Senegal/Columbia/Japan (Whoever comes 1st) with Mexico/Switzerland in the Quarters. Whoever finished 1st will end up against Brazil/Germany in the Quarters

Hoping England play a heavily rotated line-up and lose a close game. Whoever finished second has the easier rout.

Nope....

So you finish 2nd you get to play Colombia(way harder)

You finish First and you are automatically in the final 8. No disrespect to Japan but that game

Is a technicality

Ok after that you play as 1st Brazil or Mexico

2nd you play Sweden or the Swiss

Honestly after you get to the final 8 everyone deserves to be there

Let's be real, everyone would rather be in the spot that has to play Colombia, especially with an injured James.

Looks like we're rolling with a starting eleven of entirely reserves. Not even trying to win.

While Colombia is probably considerably easier to defeat than Japan, the team who does so will likely face Brazil next, making that route a lot less appealing

I don't like either of these teams, both arrogant as fuck because they're so good at bullying tiny countries. Hope they both get fucked within the next two rounds.

Prediction: Whoever tries to get second and feels happy about it will go on to lose against Colombia.

I should clarify that I meant Belgium would rather play Colombia and Switzerland than Japan and Brazil, even if playing for 2nd is utterly stupid.

Both teams playing to lose. What a disgrace.

Seems Belgium benched about 5 starters. IDK what Englands starting lineup usually is so can't say the same about them. No Kane though.

Basically, neither team believes they can actually win.

The odds of the second placed team are about twice as high of winning the WC from this group, that's why they're both trying to bottle.

Nah, I'd rather us play Colombia than Brazil anytime. If we beat Colombia then its an easier game in the Quarters. But England always bottle it anyway, no matter who the opponent is.

Just saw on tv that the winner of group G will have to travel like 5 times as much as the 2nd placed team, to many different cities in Russia while the 2nd team will only have to travel once to one other city in the entire remainder of the tournament. That's a pretty big factor as well, another reason to not want to win.

I'm curious to see how this game is gonna turn out

Lol, both teams fielding shit line-ups, but England's attack and defence is still pretty good. The midfield is just horrendous though, filled up with fullbacks and a DM.
