he doesn't haha. I think Balanta should be moved to a DM or a box to box MF. Some of the attacking runs he makes and his throw ball passes are amazing. Defensively he is pretty good no where near Murillo or Pedro Franco(Besiktas) who are around the same age. Balanta just gets crazy hyped because he plays for River Plate in Argentina.

Colombian players to watch
-Borre - 19 - Atletico Madrid/Dept Cali - Striker utter monster. New Falcao even better at that age then el Tigre was.
-Cardona - AMC plays in Monterrey, Mexico - what people thought Guarin would/could be but 23/24. He just too much of a hot head but his rocket shot actually goes in. Our NT coach trying to make him a Box to box MF. He is a bit fat but might just be like Bacca and Muriel who just have fat faces. Sadly his mexican team asking 15 million euro for him. Shakle 04 in Germany wanted him but they gave a crazy insane price haha
-Arias - our starting RB plays for PSV and looks like Michael Cera. 24 yrs old we have been linked to him a couple times in the past

I think they are the 3 most promising players out of Colombia right now.

pedro franco is shit

i dont know why teams interested with him nobody likes him in turkey

Great to see Dayro Moreno back in the squad. Deserves it with his recent form at Tijuana.

Marlos Moreno also one to watch out for.

Thanks Inter for selling Guarin :) have fun watching it on tv like the rest of us!!!

Cardona is the one to watch. Bayern is strongly linked to him. Kid is insanely special because of him we are most likely playing a 4-2-3-1

----------------Bacca-------------
Cuadrado-------Cardona-------James

On paper it's super sexy/scary attack. Colombia needs at least 3 points in the next 2 games we defiantly need to beat Ecuador to stay alive. They need to be stopped if not. Dreams of Russia are basically over.

Brilliant play by the new boy Marlos Moreno. His assist has given Colombia the lead.

Both of our win were late game Cardona goals.

Wish Inter would go after Cardona. Moreno needs to go to a smaller team. Colombia is alive still 5 points from Ecuador but Paraguay already helping out.

Need to knock out Chile or Ecuador I think FIFA won't allow Uruguay, Argentina or Brazil to not qualify.

Great day for Colombian Soccer fans. We are in the top 5 and 1/3 of the way to Russia :). 24/27 points

We booked our tickets to Brazil Olympics after knocking out the US in Texas. Our shit U20 coach almost F'd us but talent won out. we had to ship one of the starters who played against Bolivia to make sure that idiot didn't get eliminated !!!

Carlos Bacca goal was some PS4 shit !!!

FKING LOVE BACCA !!!!

----------------------Ospina--------------------------
Arias-------Davison--------Mina--------------Fabra
----------C.Sanchez----Uribe--------------
Cuadrado-----------------------------James---
----------Falcao---------Bacca/Muriel

or we might do a 4-3-2-1
----------------------Ospina--------------------------
Arias-------Davison--------Mina--------------Fabra
----------C.Sanchez----Uribe----James----------
Cuadrado-----------------------------Muriel/Izquerido---
-------------------Falcao---------------

Negatives
-Team is very weak in the air defensively and on free kicks
- GKs are short and not that great
- Ospina deflects the ball a lot leading to a few goals
- Ospina has given up a bullshit goal in the past 5 games
-Insanely young CB pair 22 and 23 year old starters
- Less Experienced than the 2014 team
- not playing in South America

Positives
-Basically most of the guys from 2014 + Falcao
-Stronger CBs in Mina and Sanchez
-Every starter but Carlos Sanchez(might not start) is a goal threat
-Stronger Forwards this time around
-Stronger bench

Hoping for at least a final 8 finish. Not getting out of group stages is unacceptable and would be a shame with the roster we have. Final 16 will be England or Belgium both beatable and frankly over rated. Tho would be super funny if its Panama :D

Last 8 is Brazil or Germany. So at that point its whatever.

Colombia tends to choke against (good) European teams, no? Really wanted that 2014 team to go further. You have some very good players.

Teo Gutierrez in the last 35 is a surprise for me, don´t know much about him tbh but he was awful in Portugal.
Arias was a mistake by Sporting, he didn´t play much but when he did you could see he had quality, the sold him young without giving him a real chance it was too bad, our league would be great for a player like him.

Also Jackson, unfortunately his career is over due to injuries but the guy was class, a very humble and down to earth guy, everybody loved him, too bad he didn´t settle in Atlético you could really see he wasn´t happy anymore in just a few months, sold to China then injuries and game over, I really feel bad for him, he still comes to Porto often to work on his injuries with our staff, such a nice guy.

Like who we beat France at away, tied Spain at away, Beat Belgium away, tied Holland away

Colombia shits it’s pants against Argentina and Brazil. Our saddest daddy is named Venezuela they fking suck but go super saiyan god anytime they play us.

Find it funny Euro fans think so highly of their NTs because they play on euro leagues. Most our NT is black so no bs Italian grandma visa all the Argie and Uruguayans get.

If a euro team comes to colombia and beats us then fine. Beating us in a blizzard or with home field advantage really isn’t the same thing as coming to colombia and winning.

To me our ceiling is the final 8 again. I just don’t see us beating Germany or even Brazil. Under their new coach they are scary. England/Belgium the game needs to be played I will be sad if we don’t win but won’t be heart broken. We don’t make it out of group stage and I would be insanely shocked.

Also Having a baby. Told my wife to hold out because we need to make a big decision if he will be named Radmel or James :)

I meant in official games. Colombia seems to have very bad results against European teams in the World Cup.
I was actually expecting Colombia to be a top 4 team in the previous World Cup but they had to face the hosts in the quarters.

We went without a goal scorer we played James as our #9 when he isn’t one. We had an easy group and then a opponent we knew well. We had a good World Cup but must admit we were very lucky.

Brazil to me was questionable reffing. Should have ended 9v8 with how brutal the game got. At one point T. Silva hits Ospina. Should have been a straight red and nothing given. Then all the hacking on James. Surprised our players didn’t just attack theirs at that point.

My point is don’t play dirty against South America teams or someone will get injured badly. We then got a bad rep after that game for being too violent when they played even dirtier.

As for not beating Brazil. I’d take A u15 girls team from Italy, Brazil or Germany in the last 16 or last 8 over any national team even if they had their choice of any players from Bayern, Real and Barca. At that point they make their uniforms and history felt

4 years ago the saddest news of all time to Colombians was a reality!!! I can’t wait till Tuesday!!

Falcao..... James stepped up for you last time and Ronaldo has 3!! James scored 6 in Brazil..... you need to score 7 at least!! 10 preferably :) you don’t want to give Ronaldo the gold boot

Colombia didn't exist before James. I dont give a shit about the 90s team or el Pibe or anyone pre James. People give the coach so much love but it all comes down to James was born in Colombia and he was the missing piece we have needed. We didnt qualify in 2010 because our prior coaches didnt have the balls to start a 17 year old James who was a starter/star for Banfield that he lead to a Argie league title.

Had to wait till he was 21 to be given a shot when much shitter players got it for doing way less.

We have always had good players. Ivan Cordoba and Yepes were world class to me. Yepes didnt get any love until he came to Italy and was too old but guy was total class. We even had incredible goalies in Mondragon and Oscar Cordoba. We just never had all the right pieces. It was a generation of great goalies and defenders but no MFs and Strikers. Then we started developing a bunch of strikers like Falcao, Bacca, Jackson, Teo and lesser extent Rodallega. But no one to give them the ball or service.

Then boom James the chosen one came. In his first start he had the game winning assist against Boliva in La Paz. Something we hadn't done before. Bolivia sucks but in La Paz they are Real Madrid with 14 players.

Now James after 7(more like 6.25) WC games has 6 goals and 4 assist. He still not at 100% fitness :)

No it’s the Colombian media and older fans. James can win the World Cup and score 10 goals(currently has 0). Be the top
Scorer again. Rated the best player and it’s still El Pibe and Asprilla are better!!

Even now Quintero is getting all the love. The assist to Mina and Cuadrado came from
An injured James.

It’s like wow. Some go so far as saying Carlos Sanchez is more important to the NT then James or Falcao. James has over 20 goals and god knows how many assist. Falcao has 30 goals. Sanchez shouldn’t be on the team but people love that dude

Really? I thought every Colombia worships James, it seemed like that was the case when he got subbed on against Japan.

I mean, other than being lazy off the ball and low work rate, the guy is a fucking magician on the ball.
