Can we bring back Benassi for the same money? They are at the same age, play in same position and currently I think Benassi is better.

That was my initial reaction too, but apparently Gagliardini is more in the Motta mold. He is also a more physical presence, which allows him to play deeper in midfield.

I think Benassi would be more of a direct replacement for Brozovic.

This is all speculation mind you off of what I've been told about the kid from people who have actually watched him.

Ansa confirms: hourly contact Inter-agent of Gagliardini. If he says yes, he is in Milano in the next 48 hours

Ansa are credible sauces,as they report confirmed news...no bullshiting from them

30m is the new 15m. If we had signed him for 15m a few seasons ago people wouldn't be nearly as concerned

So does this mean PSG signing Krychowiak for 33 million was a steal?

Either that PSG deal was a steal or we are getting ripped off. I'm leaning towards the latter.

We can't just buy anyone and pay any price just to make our team more Italian. Yes, the kid is talented but 27-30 million?! Go to Croatia and you can probably find a more talented kid for a quarter of this price.

Benassi is the same age and plays in the same position. He's had 4 goals and 2 assists this season. We sold him a year ago to Trunio for 4.8 million. I don't think he would cost more than 10 or max 15 million to buy back.

On the other hand, this shows that the Chinese mean business and are not messing around. The next few years shuld be exciting. I hope they invest in infrastructure a little bit more so the club can be profitable.

Well, in November (about 7 games ago) he broke into the Atalanta starting XI and has been a regular since. Does that answer your question?

Promising kid he is and with time he might develop into a decent starter at Inter, but this should not be priority for us at the mo. Our team is crying out for a quality DM, CB and FBs. If we have 30m to spend, thats where we should be spending the money.

Don't forget he got called up to Italy in November. Gotta give alot of credit to Atalanta with how they develop and handle youngsters.

Not really. This kid is more of a deeplying playmaker of sorts, but with good defensive skills. Benassi is more of a box-to-box midfielder. He doesn't have the defensive skills this kid has. Nor is he as comfortable in possession. He's a far better goal-scoring threat though. You could play Gag in front of the defense. At Atalanta he only has Kessie and Kurtic to help him out in the midfield. Neither one of them is particularly defensive.

As i've said. I'm only basing this off a small sample size, but what i've seen makes me excited. He has a lot of composure.

As for getting Benassi for cheap? Torino are asking for 100m for Bellotti (well, that's his buy-out clause). There is a good chance they would expect a lot for Benassi too.

Pioli sees him as a CB, he has said it a couple of times now. Also we've been linked to players who can fill that role in the midfield in Lucas and Gustavo. According to some people who have seen Gagliardini he is also capable defensively. We've also seen that Pioli will play Kondogbia as the most defensive midfielder.

IMO Brozovic and Mario are set variables in our 3 man midfield. The 3rd position will be between Kondogbia and whoever else comes in now that Melo is gone.

And that's the way it should be, I wanted to pull my hair out everytime Kondogbia was our most offensive midfielder last season.

I think Brozović, João Mário and Banega should fight for two spots, while Kondogbia and L. Leiva/L. Gustavo fight for the DM spot. I would prefer that when Brozović and João Mário play together, it's the Croatian that plays closer to the opponent's goal.

Then hopefully we get James Rodríguez for next season.

Mate, us fans of clubs who start players like Melo are not allowed to make fun of Schneiderlin... I will take Schneiderlin over Melo or even Lucas Leiva any day of the week, as long as its a loan with option to buy.

Actually, the rumor is we want gag, verratti, and one of berardi or bernardeschi... with some darmian sprinkled on top. That's some fap worthy shit, but still pretty unbelievable.

Do you think we will buy and sit him on the bench? Our track record with young players is hardly encouraging.

Hence the word STAY mediocre. The guy never impressed me with Southampton or the French national team, and he can't even get in the match day squad at United.

If we want to get better this isn't what we need. Thank god it appears Suning understand this and we aren't going to sign Leiva, and we're getting rid of Melo.

He's the type of player we really need and are taking the chance of buying him now instead of the summer (this could be argued that we just wanted to beat Juve to sign him), so I think the chances are he'll be playing quite a bit.
