Yes but regarding Kovacic, a key difference was that when questioned about the player, Mancini said things like "he's a very important player to our future plans" and "we hope Icardi, Kovacic, Handanovic will all stay". Take that as you will, but there's a huge difference between saying that and saying things like "Shaqiri and Santon would do well in the premier league" and "we can only have 25 players so some will be sold".

I must have missed that quote. It is essentially a for sale sign. Wonder if the inability to sell guarin or hernanes at a decent price has anything to do with the sale of shaqiri. If it does, then he is a victim of circumstance. The more i think about this, the less and less i believe that there is a personality or tactical issue with shaqiri. He stretches the field and and puts us in the opponents half quicker than anyone we are rumored to get.

Since Schalke want Shaqiri on loan + obligation to buy, they would probably be open to a similar formula (Inter formula) for Draxler. Draxler plus few millions is just a no brainer! I don't really understand why aren't we after him! Yes, he is injury-prone but so is Jovetic and we are still after him. So that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Draxler is better, younger and probably cheaper than Perisic! But no, Inter can't sign quality players...
