You kinda have a point there, but honestly, I don't get the supporters who can't seem to enjoy a win.

I kind of understand it if the performance is horrible.

Yesterday our performance was not horrible, it was close to perfection. If one expects goals galore from Inter and Conte without compromising our own end, one is a lunatic.

We improved on and executed our "first half control" much better today. That said, I don't know why we even seem so intent on this recent gameplan anyway. We seemingly refuse to play football for the first half and instead focus on just locking down a game.

It worked today, and our immediate response to conceding was excellent. It won't always go to plan though and I really don't like this tendency to waste or at best, neutralize, such large chunks of the game. Like I always say, it's like walking an hour late into a 2 hour exam. You leave yourself with such little time to perform and such little time to fix any errors should something go wrong.

One thing's for sure, it won't work against better teams. Just see our record against "big" teams this season: in 6 games against Lazio, Milan, Real Madrid x 2, Atalanta and Napoli, we have 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats. Utterly disgusting record. This strategy of controlling and neutralizing our opponents simply won't be enough to win the league if we can't raise our game against any team in the top 6.

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. We played almost perfectly against Verona. We gave them almost nothing. Scored the necessary goals, give opponent nothing. That's the plan.

When the opponent is better (and Verona is pretty good already, by their stats against big or "big" teams) we might play differently. So let's complain about our performance only after we've actually played against Roma and Juve (and Milan, Lazio soon when the second round starts), but not in advance. We can only judge our performance with this kind of football against Verona, but not against Roma for instance. So, let's wait.

We have clearly changed in these past weeks so let's give this one a try before bashing it won't work against better teams. We don't have evidence of that yet.

Taking account seasons from 1929/30 onwards, Inter have equalled their record goal haul in a calendar year across all competitions: 108, a tally they previously achieved in 1961 and 2007.

Would be interesting to compare the number of matches.
