I dunno. I think it would. Remember Tevez and Mascherano at West Ham, they had 'influence' over their playing time because of the buying conditions attached to the loan, it went to trial and stuff and they (West Ham) lost on appeal

I'm not aware of any contracts where theres anything like a mandated playing time

Im sure if it was possible, Inter would have insisted on it on all of our loans :D

On this matter the only thing i am aware of is situations where clubs have to pay a fine to parent club if a loanee doesn't get the promising playing time.

Don't have one.
The number of torn ACLs in Europe right now is staggering.
Too many games played during a season, both on club and especially international level. And in recent times you don't even have regular friendly games on international level cos all countries take nations league fairly seriously. There is no way there isn't direct connection to all of that with the amount of injuries we had in recent times.

I really hope the recently mentioned players strike will happen soon, they are the only ones who can stop this bullshit schedule. Coz everyone else just views it as a simple equation of more games=more money.

More like Vanheusden vol. 2. I don't recall any serious injuries for Esposito. It was his attitude that had held him back in previous years.
It was meant more as a guy we would get money for, as hes a big talent... but yea, actually zinho also fits this.

There is a reason I say "I hope the Club World Cup goes up in flames" over and over again, here and elsewhere. There's a reason why, even though I have plenty of time for the international game, I simply won't watch Nations League. I'd rather go back to irrelevant friendlies at lower intensity and all that shit (or, better yet, let these international breaks just be breaks in the schedule entirely). The schedule is insanity. And the answer to the question isn't "bigger squad sizes" because you're further cannibalizing smaller teams and wrecking the sport down the ladder, it's a terrible solution.

To be perfectly honest, the schedule should run from mid-August through to mid-May, at most. You could probably even contract it further with some realigning of things but I don't want to get too far into the details right now. Season ends in mid-May, two months off during the odd-numbered years, return to training in mid-July. (Figure out something else during World Cup and Euro/Copa América years.) Give these players a proper rest both physically and mentally. You can't demand these guys play nearly year-round without stop and then be surprised if there's a drop in quality. They aren't robots, their bodies can and are breaking down. There are top class players right now who I will be shocked if they're still productive by the time they're 30 because of how insane their workloads are.

Though Carboni and too many games has nothing to do with each other.

Just bad luck here.

To be clear, I was responding to a more general trend about the sport, not so much about Carboni. Even thought he was with Argentina during the Copa América I don't think he played a minute during the competition. Some torn ACLs are just plain bad luck.

I know I just used his example to discuss the bigger picture here. The facts are, we have a worrying increase in the amount of injuries, there is no denying it. Every time I go on x or insta I get the news about the players getting injured, especially from bigger clubs where you have players playing non-stop.

And if you want carboni connection here, the kid didn't have a proper preseason because of the long last season and international duties during the summer. It's not a stretch to connect that with this injury he had. It's not like pure playing minutes are the only contributing factor, it's also all the shit and baggage that comes with those ridiculous amount of games.

It was very unlikely to begin with, even without the season ending injury.

This. We inserted that clause just to put a price to our evaluation. It would take a top season from him for Marseille to activate his option.

The only positive is his game has never relied on speed so injury shouldn't destroy him like it did chiesa. So hopefully he can recover.
